How long and what is the best way to get from GF to Poly?

Walk. 10-15 minutes.

If you're possibly going from the villas, it's even shorter- about a six minute walk. Super quick!

If you are closer to the boat launch near Narcoosses the boat goes from GF to Poly to MK approx. every 20 minutes.

I wouldn't. You have to take the resort monorail, which will stop at Magic Kingdom, Contemporary and the TTC before reaching Poly.

monorail from Poly to GF is very fast, prob not even 2 mins, because you're going isn the "right" direction (or walk if you don't wait to wait for the monorail).

as others have said, walking from GF to Poly is quick, particularly if you are near the villas. but if you are going to be near the boat launch, GF to Poly is about a 5 minute boat ride (plus the wait for the boat). but to go from Poly to GF, you will have to also stop at the MK, which will add 15+ mins.

my personal fave is boat from GF to Poly and monorail from Poly to GF. they are the fastest, and while i am at disney i am never actually looking to add MORE walking.

Yeah. Your monorail issue is that the resort monorail goes one way. So it's not like a train where you cross the platform to get the unit going the other way.

So GF to anything but MK can be a bit of a journey, because you have the disembark and reload at MK in your path. Still generally the best way to Contemporary, but to the Poly it's the long way around.
