DD and I are going to get a massage at the GF spa while DH does the Richard Petty Driving Experience. I am wondering if anyone has some words of wisdom about which massage to get? I think we may go with the Head Shoulder and Back massage. Is the Swedish massage just the back area or all over massage? Thanks in advance for any info!

Muffy, I do not know the answer to your question but I do remember seeing "GF Spa" type of threads here on the Dis within the past few months. Try "searching" the boards and see what pops up. It sounds like you will have a fun day no matter which treatment you choose. By the way, consider doing all of them and becoming the Dis' official spa spokesperson!

Thanks for replying Janet2k! I did do a search but did not come up with much except the FAQ about GF. I did get some info from that thread. I think we will go with Head Shoulder and Back massage. This will be our first massage! I will report back about it!

Muffy, upon your return, I will consider you the GF Spa expert! I anxiously await your detailed report (don't forget to take photos, too). ;)

Muffy, please check out the WDW official "spa" webpage: click here to go to it. I haven't read through what they have listed, but my fingers are crossed that there might actually be some info posted there that proves of value to you.

Muffy

I have a brochure from the GF Spa that was e-mailed to me. If you want, I can forward it to you.

It details all the treatments and gives prices.

Hi Muffy,
Maybe I can help. The sweedish massage is an "all over" massage - from your toes up to your ears or sometimes head. It is AMAZING and not be missed. It usually is around 50 minutes and if you've never had one you'll love it.

the head, shoulder and back sounds nice, but since they skip the rest of you, you miss out on that "feeling like jelly" when you leave. I'd also recommend upgrading it to an aromatherapy massage. The smell is heavenly and it really adds to the whole experience.

Make sure you arrive early and take advantage of the hot tub, and steam/suana rooms. It really is better if you do these before the massage; this way you don't wash off all the oils they've just rubbed in.

Let me know if you have anymore ?'s.

Janet2K, Darthgoofy and Carol, Thanks for the links and great info! Carol, I love your discription of the Swedish massage! That is the ONE I'm going to get then! Can't wait!
