GF Rooms

Have any of the GF rooms been refurbished/rennovated? I am concerned because although the grounds look beautiful, in all of the pictures of the rooms that I have seen, the bedding looks pretty tired....

Also, are these rooms to "girlie" for my 2 teenage (13/17) sons?

I think the last time the resort was entirely refurbished was back in the summer of 2000. I'm sure that they do replace and maintain, but other than a recent main lobby rennovation, I don't think there's been too much done. The decor is very feminine, but that's the victorian theme. My 14 year old son didn't complain about the bedding or the design, but honestly I wouldn't really expect him to notice anything like that. He's pretty much happy with a hot shower and a comfortable bed.

We've stayed many times at the GF, but this time we are going to try out an Epcot resort. My kids are getting older now and we thought it would be fun to have the convenience of Epcot and MGM this time around. We picked the Yacht Club, which is a nautical theme and a bit more masculine. Plus they have Storm Along Bay which I'm sure will be a big hit with my kids.

When we were stating at the GF this July, pillowtop mattresses were being delivered. So even if the decor is a little too "frou-frou" as my DH says for your sons, they should sleep well!

We've only stayed at the GF three times, but it is a lovely resort. The Polynesian has been our resort with about 30 vacations there but ever since the GF opened, we have dined at the GF several times per trip. Great restaurants!

In the rooms we've had the bedding has been in great shape.

Thanks for the info.....I noticed that some of the rooms have what is called a "historic" theme....does anyone know what this is, or have pictures of one of the rooms with this theme?

all of the rooms now have the new pillow top beds.
