GF Rooms with MK View

Is it worth requesting an MK view for a Lagoon room at the GF? I've seen some pictures and it looks as if you can only see the top of Cinderella's castle, nothing else. Is this true?

Yes, for the most part. The bottom half is hidden by Main Street/trees. It is still a wonderful view, however. You'll have prime viewing of the MK fireworks and it is neat to see the MK park lite up at night.

Many people request the "MK view" so availability may be limited but it worth a try. I've had good views from Sago Cay and Boca Chica. Big Pine Key can be dicey because many of the Lagoon View rooms actually face the Polynesian/Wedding Pavillion.

Still, you can't go wrong with any Lagoon View, in my opinion. They are lovely rooms. The only time I was less than pleased was a room we were assigned once in Conch Key. It had a lagoon view, sure. But, it wasfrom across a walkway and past the Narcoosee's building. I thought it was more of a Garden View than Lagoon View room.

If you can, request a MK view in Conch Key. It's a stunner.

We had one several years ago, and while you only saw the top spires of the castle, you were so close to the action, you could hear music and train whistles and, of course, SEE the fireworks from our balcony.

We also had a perfect spot for viewing the electrical pageant as it glided by every night.

Added bonus: you're right next to the boat dock. So, after a long day in the park, you take a 10 minute boat ride and then in under a minute, you're back in your room! Very helpful.

Wherever you stay at the GF, enjoy. It's the prettiest resort on property, and the proximity to the Magic Kingdom makes it all the MORE magical.

just got back from the gf...were there for 7 nights....we asked for mk view and got big pine key...it was a great view of the whole lagoon...we have also stayed in boca chica on the 4th of july and big pine key had the better overall view...it seemed closer to mk and you could here / see alot of things going on at mk that we could not from boca chica...but i gues it depends on the room...the gf is a great place....the views are awesome!....just roll the dice and ask for mk view!

dw123: Even though it seems far away, at night when the castle is lit up and changing colors, it seems that you could almost reach out and touch it Sitting out on our balcony at night, watching the castle change colors, are some of our best memories of staying at the GF

THIS is still my FAVORITE DIS board! I don't have a trip coming up within the next year (sadly), so I haven't been over here in a while. But today I just couldn't resist coming over and seeing what's new and what's going on at the resorts!!!!

I have such an urge to plan a Disney World trip....it's terrible....there should be a "Disney Addicts Anonymous" Club or something... hehehe
