Just booked a resort studio preferred view at Grand Floridian! First time there!!! Any buildings I should request??? Give me the good the bad and the ugly please lol
Since you posted on the DVC Resorts thread, we all assume you are asking about the villas and probably booked for points or rented a reservation from a DVC owner. As @Sandisw posted, all of the Resort Studios are in the GF building known as Big Pine Key. If you booked a Deluxe Studio, your villa would be in the separate DVC building.
In both cases, views are separate booking categories - either resort view, preferred view (aka water/lake view) or theme park view.
If you booked the Grand Floridian for cash (and not the DVC villas with points), you should post your question on this forum:

A resort studio preferred view will be in Big Pine Key looking over the water towards the Poly. I’ve circled the building in blue, the arrows show the direction of the view. I like the building’s location & find it to be very convenient.
I always request higher floors in the main villas, but I would not request a higher floor for a Big Pine Key resort studio preferred view booking. I like having a balcony & a couple of the 5th floor resort studio preferred views don’t have balconies & the rest have small box balconies.
The preferred views from the lower floors are quite nice - they overlook the lake & there’s no walking path in front of them, so they are fairly serene.
