GF on New Years Eve?

Hi,
We're staying at the Polynesian for three days beginning NYE. However, my in-laws who live in Orlando say there is a big event at the Grand Floridian on New Years Eve night. Does anyone know about this? They seem to think it is free and in the main bldg. Thanks!
