GF Main Building Availability?

I currently have a tower room reserved for 12/5 - 12/12 for my 2 sisters and myself. I would love to change to the main building RPC Conceirge for the location and ambience of that gorgeous lounge. Also, we are all three somewhat walking challenged. Nothing serious, just old age ( well-the other 2 anyway).

Right now, nothing is available in the main building, but I will continue to check each day.

Does anyone know how likely it might be that a room there will open up? Maybe around or after the 45 day window? Or does it stay pretty much booked for the holidays?

Thanks for any info you might have.

I want to know too!!

I have been playing around with different dates online to check and see what I can get at the GF RPC. I haven't had any luck at all for December.

The Christmas decorations must be that spectacular!!

Good luck to you, Grammamouse. I am going to keep on trying myself.

I just took a quick peek at the Disney website and they have availabilty in the main building right now on 12/5 and 12/8. It might be worthwhile to go ahead and grab those nights now and at least get your foot in the door so to speak. With even just one night, you'll get the services of a concierge pre-planner and they can certainly help you out with trying to get you into the main building for the rest of your dates. Worst case scenario is that you'll only be able to do the first few nights there and then have to finish up in a tower room. The GF will take care of moving all your luggage, so you needn't worry about that.

If you stay concierge for just a couple of nights - can they make ressies for the whole trip - not just the nights that we stay GF RPC?

You have a good point about just taking what is available.

I wonder if the concierge staff can possibly add nights....

Thanks for the ideas!! I am going to keep trying!:earsgirl:

My experience has been that the concierge levels at the GF fill up very quickly. We will be there the week before you and when I called in April all of the concierge level rooms were booked. I would take the rooms that are available for the 2 nights just to experience it. Then let the wonderful concierge CMs can help you with the rest of your trip, move your luggage, etc. I think it would be worth the move. They have such great food/wine/snacks/atmosphere you can't go wrong. Good luck!

Yes ::yes:: the pre-planners will definitely help you out for your entire stay. The concierge staff can't add nights for you, but they will keep an eye out for anything that does become available. It saves you from making those daily phone calls and they could see something before it becomes available to CRO.

Even just those few nights in RPC are worth it, plus booking the dates that are available right now will help you in your planning. If you are staying there, I'd definitely suggest that you set aside some "resort" time for those days in concierge. The lounge is just so beautiful and you have to spend one evening sitting in there, sipping your glass of wine or cordial and watch the orchestra play on the balcony below you. It's incredible.

Good luck for everyone waiting on those dates to open up.

:) Tammi, Thanks so much for the info and help. I went on-line and was able to book the 7th, 8th & 9th at RPC. Now I have 2 reservations to sort out. I wasn't sure if I should grab the 5th also and possibly have to check in 4 times:

RPC 5th
Lodge Tower 6th
RPC 7-8-9
Lodge Tower 10-11

What do you think? Should I take a chance that at least the 6th would open up? It would be really nice to check in the first night at RPC.

My sisters will think I am nuts, but I know they are going to love the RPC.

I'm so glad that you were able to book those nights. Now that you have a reservation for the RPC, I would definitely recommend e-mailing their IPO department. These are the pre-planners you get with concierge. Let them know what you currently have and see what they recommend. I'm not sure if they will be able to modify your old reservation for you, or if you'll have to do that with CRO. I don't have any experience with that one. As far as having multiple reservations, what they'll do is link them together, so all you need to do is check in once. The nice part about staying concierge for the beginning of your trip is that the luxury starts immediately. When you pull up at the security shed, you'll give your name to the guard. If you're on the concierge list, he'll call ahead and let them know you've arrived. Usually by the time the bellhops have taken your luggage, your personal concierge greeter has arrived to escort you upstairs for a private check-in. No matter what time you do check in, you'll have full use of the concierge lounge. We've arrived as early as 8am.

Here's the e-mail address for the pre-planning department: WDWGFPlanning@disney.com . They can assist you with making any priority seatings that you want, any recreation, gifts to have the room when you arrive, etc. Please let me know if I can help you out with anything else. The main building room views are assigned by request, so if you have anything special, just let them know. Your choices are (A) overlooking the beach, lagoon with Epcot off in the distance, (B) overlooking the courtyard pool and gardens, (C) overlooking the Magic Kingdom castle. The closest to the main elevators and lounge is option (A). When we're not travelling with our children, DH and like this one the best.

Tammi, thanks for the info. Unfortunately I am looking for more toward Xmas break - when my kids will be out (Dec 15/16ish to the 21/22) I will keep trying.

Good for you Grammamouse!! I am glad you got some of your dates.

Thanks for the info re the help the concierge staff can give. I am sure I will need their help getting some of the ressies I want.
