GF Lost & Found

We returned this past week-end from an absolute wonderful stay @ GF only to realize that DD,9, had lost her long time companion, the Raggedy Ann doll that she has had and treasured since her 2nd Christmas. I called GF Lost & Found, left a message describing the doll, and lo & behold, got a call yesterday letting us know that she had been found!

Apparently she got picked up with the sheets (BTW, these were changed every day that we were there, even on the daybed). Linen services are contracted with another company, but the lady that called me says she makes several trips to the facility during the week and knew exactly the doll I was referring to when she got my message! "Annie" is being shipped to NC as we speak.

So, my point, if you lose something, don't hesitate to give the resorts a call. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I also have to say that they have excellent service. I left my glasses in our room on our last stay, and found out once I got home I didn't have them. I called, but lost & found was closed so I planned on calling the next day. The next morning we got a call from the GF, and they asked if we left glasses in the room, and they shipped them to us. Excellent customer service!

The same thing happened to us. Somehow I managed to leave the GF without my daughter's favorite thing in the world. She has had it since she was born. When I realized we got all the way home without if I cried, then she cried, for hours. I called the GF that night but the lost and found was closed. I tried again in the morning and she called me back within 5 minutes to say she found it. It must have gotten tucked in the sheets and one of the housekeepers put a note on it. I was so happy I cried again.

I had it overnighted to me because I thought my daughter was never going to sleep again. She's been sleeping with her 'bear' every night for years.

We had a similar situation in December - DD2 is a major Eeyore fanatic - she had left her mid size beanie Eeyore she had gotten on our first Disney excursion, along with several others, on her bed when we left for the parks for the day. When we got back to AKL, she panicked, because her Eeyore wasn't there - we searched the room, no Eeyore! I talked to the concierge upstairs, to ask him if there was a way to find out if it was in the laundry, thinking it must have gotten mixed in with the sheets. He called down, but they said nothing had been found, so he had me fill out a lost item report. We went out to Epcot - when we got back at 10:30 that night, turndown service had come, and on Jennie's daybed were now 5 Eeyores - her original four, including the lost one, and a new identical friend! There was a note saying that this Eeyore had been found in the lounge, and they assumed it must be ours (I don't know - I hope there is not another sad little girl at AKL, as Jennie hadn't ever brought it to the lounge with her!). Definite Disney magic!
