GF Kids activities?

We are trying to decide between staying at the GF or Poly for our trip next January, and one of my considerations are the fun kids activities offered at the GF.

DD will be 3 when we go (her bday is Jan 6th), and she is already potty trained, so that won't be an issue... but, do you think she'll be a bit too young to do things like the Chef party or the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party? Those are just for kids, no parents, right? The age restrictions are 3-10...

Have your kids done any of these? What are your thoughts?

I think you'd be okay staying at either resort as you'd be able to participate in the activities either way. I think your daughter would like the activities if she's okay with separating from you. My daughter will be 4yo this month and would be fine doing them now. Last year at this time, not so much. I would say 3.5yo was the magical turning point for her when she switched from "Mommy don't leave me!" to "See ya!"

Oh, and while we didn't do the Wonderland Tea Party at the GF we did the one on DCL and our daughter liked it. We also did the My Disney Girl Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the GF in December and she really loved that.

She will start preschool in September, so she will be used to being away from me... but I'm just not sure! I suppose we could do the Princess Tea-- that is the one for two people, right?

DCL is Disney Cruise Line. They also have an Alice Tea Party, similar I guess to the one at the GF.

My daughter was in preschool since she was 18 months old, but that really had no effect on separating from me. She went 3 hours a day, 5 days a week but still wouldn't attend activities without me until about 3.5yo. She wouldn't use the kids club on DCL last summer (she was 3 years and 4 months), but then at 3.5yo she started ballet and walked in without hesitation. Guess it was just an age/maturity thing.

Actually I think the tea parties are for parents too, at least the one where they get the Sleeping Beauty doll is, which is the Perfect Princess one I think (haven't done it so I am not 100% on that).

We just loved the GF. It was so great and the cool thing was seeing things like Cinderella's carriage ( I have a picture of my DD standing next to it.) around the resort for the weddings and being so close to MK you could see the fireworks from the dock perfectly. Yes, I know you can see them from the Poly, but at a farther distance. We also celebrated our DD's 6th birthday there and she received a card from Cindy with a signed picture, and a plate with a white chocolate Mickey and cookies from the resort. She was so thrilled and surprised since we never mentioned it to her ahead of time. Just make sure you tell the resort you want them to do it and give them 48 hours notice. We did but the desk clerk somehow didn't get it into the system, but we called down to the front desk on it and they were still able to do that with only a few hours notice, but we were just lucky I think, so make sure to do it in plenty of time so your DD can get a great surprise too.

I'm definitely starting to think 3 is a bit young... has anyone tried with that young of a kiddo?
