GF construction as of 7/22/11 (pics)

So as I said earlier, I went to Disney to see for myself and take pictures of the construction.

Thanks for posting! It gives us a bit of a better idea of what's to come.

I really do love the new windows! However, now from your one picture showing the windows up by the altar, the old vine style ones look kinda out of place next to the new ones. Does anyone know if they're going to change those as well? Obviously not the castle-view window, but the others in that little alcove...

You're a rockstar for posting these! Thank you! I will admit I have been a tad stressed about the walls going around the WP. The windows are gorgeous and don't bother me a bit. But the walls were giving me nightmares.

I've heard it mentioned that they were working on a different path for cindy's coach.

Rumor is they're gonna have the carriage take the road from the WP to the GF and then turn around and head back to the WP for pictures. I don't like this because you loose the beautiful scenes. I've wanted the carriage for 10 years but if that is truely the case I may just say forget it.

Ugh! I feel the same way - without the long stretch of beach and the beautiful scenery I don't know if it is worth it! On the up side DF would be happy to save the money

I don't think a change to the carriage route will be all bad... I think it will be really exciting to turn in when you see the Wedding Pavilion sign. And it's not like it's just a regular road through your neighborhood. The last time I was at GF, there were all these gorgeous pink flowers along the entrance road. You won't get to see the beach, so if that was a big point for you, I can understand that it's kind of a bummer. But I think it will still be magical.

You may manage to get those pictures. As of right now they aren't on the beach yet and I don't see them getting to the beach for another month or so (end of August)
