Hi everyone

Just been having a think about where to have our wedding dinner and i was wondering what people think of the GF cafe?

We are getting married at the pavillion and staying at the GF so would ideally like to have our meal somewhere on the property. I have had a look at the menus for Citricos and Narcoosees but as i am such a plain eater they seem a little fancy for me and my family. The GF cafe menu seems closer to our taste but i didnt know whether the venue is special enough for a wedding meal?

Any opinions / thoughts would be appreciated. There will be 16 of us in total.

Thanks

Hi again sweetie!! The GF cafe was one of the options we looked at seriously when we were planning our VR. I contacted the manager who was absolutely lovely and very helpful. She was very happy for us to have our reception meal at her restaurant, but she could not, unfortunately, guarantee that all our party would be seated together. As it was so very important to us that we all be seated together, we had to reject the idea of the GF cafe. Reading through these boards, it seems to be a general problem with ADRs that there can be no guarantee that groups are kept together, and, on reflection, I believe that Citrco's was the only restaurant of the many we looked in to, that assured us that sitting the whole party together would not be a problem!!

We had our daughters rehearsal lunch there back in 2008.
It was wonderful, they put us toward the back of the restaurant and we had our own section. we had one long table and then a section against the wall right next to the long table, it worked out great. We had a special cake made they put it out on a separate table for us.

They also made personalized menus as well. It was a wonderful afternoon.

Thanks to you both. I think i will wait until we are assigned a planner and see what they suggest. Obviously if we cant be sat together it will be a no-no but the big table at the back sounds good :thumbsup2 x

I am doing a vow renewal on Dec 9 and the GF Cafe was on my list of places to have dinner following. We've opted for a private reception, but I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is some of the most delicious and elegant on property. It is still casual enough that you feel at ease though. I think it is a hidden gem. We always visit on every trip.

Aww thanks everyone you have helped make my mind up, cant wait until we can book!!! x
