Alrighty GF brides/avid DisBoard followers: I am trying to decide between using the St. Augustine ballrooms and the Grand Floridian ballrooms for my reception at the GF convention center. Since I have never seen either space, I'm wondering if anyone who has been on a site visit or attended a bridal showcase might be able to share some insights.

Is one ballroom better than the other in anyone's opinion? Are there any pros or cons to either? It looks like they have the same rugs (unfortunately LOL), but I think I'd prefer the GF ballroom because you walk right through the atrium and into the reception instead of down a few halls. But again, I'm curious to know if anything stands out about either space to those who have seen it in person.

Thank you!!!

That's an interesting point and perhaps the only thing that distinguishes them, really. I guess, depending on how much space you need, there's the potential that more events could be happening adjacent to yours in the GF Ballroom because it can be subdivided more than St. Augustine. Here are some pix from the Bridal Showcase...

I have some more of St. Augustine emptier that I can post when I get home.

Are the celings a whole lot lower in the St. Augustine ballroom? I'm actually trying to figure out the same thing, so this is super useful!

Oh good! I'm not fond of the small room with gigantic ceilings look. Makes the space seem less intimate, so perhaps 4ft would make a difference.

We LOVED the St Augustine ballroom. We originally wanted to do everything on the Whitehall room and patio but our event for a little too big and at that point St Augustine was the only option. We had A and B, and it was perfect for us. Our wedding was 60 guests but the way they sized the room made it feel comfortable. Not crowded and not empty at all. I didn't really notice the ceiling height and I liked being over on the side of the conference center, we felt like we had the place to ourselves.
