I was wondering if I need to bring crib sheets for the crib? Also, can I sterilize water in the room and is formula/diapers outragously priced?
Thanks,
Dani :jester:

There is a crib sheet already on the crib, but I usually bring an extra one just in case. :)

I'm not sure how you would sterilize water in your room??? They do have microwaves available, and also small refridgerators. :)

We found that formula and diapers were slightly more expensive in Florida, but not much. We usually stop at Publix on our way from the airport to our room. :)

You won't need to bring a crib sheet, the GF will provide one. If you do want to bring your own, you'll need to bring a pack 'n play sheet. The cribs provided by the GF "look" like cribs, but the mattress is the same size as a pack 'n play. There are no facilities to sterilize water for formula in the rooms at GF, since you need to boil it for at least 5 minutes for water to be sterile. Unless your child will be less than one month old, there is no reason (unless medical) you need to be providing sterile water for powdered formula. You can either use the tap water, or if you still are concerned, use bottled water that won't cause you any problems. Also, when I was traveling with my young infants, I brought my formula and diapers from home. I packed it in my carry-on for the just in case flight delays and then I had more room to bring home stuff!!!! Powdered formula doesn't take up much room, and I always bought the HUGE can of Similac and since that can lasted me at least a week, it was all I needed. I wouldn't count on being able to buy formula inside WDW, since they have an arrangement with Carnation. I have read other posts of people being able to find some Similac products, but if you use a different brand that those two, bring your own, or you'll have to stop at a nearby grocery store for your supply.

I would bring a crib sheet. When the made the crib up for us they just used a regular sheet folded up. It's not safe so I would bring one. I usually use the coffee pot to help keep the bottles and stuff clean. I just don't put the coffee in it. Don't forget that through out the parks there are the family rooms to get some diapers or drinks if you need them.

"bump" is so that the thread would be "bumped" back to page one by a response. It was lost on page three when I found the thread.

When my boys were on formula I bought the ready to feed 8 oz. cans for WDW. They run about $10 for a 6 pack. I know they are expensive, but it was so nice to be able to pop the top, pour it in the bottle, and go. I didn't have to worry about having safe water, keeping the bottles cold, messy mixing, etc. Powdered formula is good too, but I would definitely use bottled water for mixing it. Florida water is just too gross.

They do have Similac in the GF store, but it's like $4 for 8 oz. Very expensive. I would plan a stop at Publix or Walmart coming from the airport to stock up on diapers and formula. But of course bring some in your carry on too. ;)
