GF Anniversary Ideas/Suggestions?

My DH, DD(2), and I will be staying at the GF for our anniversary in July(plus, it's our first time at this resort as well).

I was wondering if there might be any food related surprises any of you Disers could suggest for us during our stay? We have done V&A's and have a ressie for that, but I was thinking about surprises in the room upon check-in!

great question! we will be at the GF 1st week in May celebrating our 15 yr anniversary and my b-day and i've been thinking the same thing. just too shy to ask.

with regard to PS... we will be there 7 nights and i have only 1 PS for the entire week. will we have a problem making last minute lunch/dinner reservations? my agent has told me that the restaurants we want are full for the week. doesn't sound right. but she's the travel expert. who am i to doubt her.

Have you called to check on the PS's you want yourself? If not, call and check it out!

Sometimes I find it really fun to be a PS Commando, calling to get what I really want! I always make one or two a day...that's just the way I am.

the AAA agent told me she would take care of everything. she also said that AAA has a "special" direct line to disney. i think i will give disney a call next week on my own and go through my dining list. at this point, i'll take what i can.

Disneybound, I would definitely call Disney to make my own PS's (1-800-421-3732). Even if you find that you cannot get PS's for a restaurant you want now try again when you get down there. Sazzo, there is a very informative past thread that may help you with special anniversary ideas, food and otherwise. Don't hesitate to let anyone and everyone at the GF know it is your anniversary! You never know when some sentimental housekeeper or manager might send you a complimentary fruit basket or balloons!

We spent our 10th wedding anniversary there in '96 and just loved it. A real treat, foodwise: the room service breakfasts. They are incredible, delivered on silver trays by white gloved attendents. You will feel like royalty!

A romantic fireworks cruise can be fun, too: we did it one night with champagne and strawberries on board But it was a little weird having a romantic moment with just me, my wife...and the boat captain.

Congrats on your anniversary. We will be there the 13-21 for our 15th as well. I would definitely take GIOny's advice and call yourself. Also, don't hesitate to add to your resort reservation a special request that states it is your 15th. Good luck.
