Has anyone been to the GF afternoon tea lately? My sister and I just booked a quick trip down in April and want to go to the afternoon tea. Any thoughts or opinions on it? Is there a dress code for it?

Me, my mom, sister and 8 yo niece did the tea at the GF for the first time in June. It was a very relaxing thing to do after a busy morning at MK. The tea and food were both incredible :cloud9: . I even made a special trip back to the GF later in the week to buy some of the Cinnamon Spice tea that I had. I had a cup every Sunday morning at home. When I ran out a month ago I told DH that I had to go back to WDW sooner than our Spring Break trip because I ran out of tea :rotfl: ! He didn't think that was a valid reason :confused3 . My mom and I had the Buckingham combo which was plenty of food to be considered lunch. My niece had Mrs. Potts tea and loved the sandwiches and delicious desserts. There were people really dressed up (a bridal shower I think), but we wore our park clothes and did not feel out of place at all. We are doing a WDW trip next summer with DH's brothers and their families. I think I'm going to suggest that the girls "do" the tea. Only 50 more days till I stop over at The GF and pick up some more of that heavenly tea pixiedust: !

My husband and I go practically every trip, it is a nice, relaxing break. The food is plentiful and yummy, if you eat everything like me, you will be stuffed! While there is no dress code and you can certainly go in shorts and tshirts, we usually like to wear something a little nicer. It is so pretty in there that it just seems more fun that way.

Just did the tea again with my mom a few weeks ago. It was really nice. The service isn't all that friendly but if you can ignore that the experience is fun. We had the Grand Tea. I highly recommend the Trifle! We also brought some of the cinnamon tea home.
