As each day passes we are trying to confirm more and more things. Our 12-month mark isn't until December, so we are trying to keep in mind that our date is "tentative". But I'm wondering, how difficult was it for you girls that already have dates confirmed to get your date when the 12-month mark hit? Our date is a weekday, not a holiday (though it is in December..near Christmas :( ) And we are semi-flexible on time, though prefer a morning/early afternoon wedding (trying to get that lunch-time reception rate! lol) Any stories/tips/etc would be great to put my mind at ease :)

Thanks!

Hi There! I didnt really have any problem getting my date and time 12 months out. I am on a weekday in the evening in April so it's a little different from your time of year. My sales manager had put my requested date on the calendar and then at 12 months she confirmed that I was still the only person looking for that date and time and I got it. Make sure you're penciled in just b/c if another SM sees that then they might be able to persuade another couple to change their requested date to something different so that you all wouldnt be put in a lottery. I hope that made sense.

Good Luck!!

I didn't book until almost 7 months out (we changed to an earlier date on a whim) and when we called to book, the date, time, and place we wanted was still available! In fact, there were two times (10 and 12) available for our date! We are getting married December this year on a Monday. :goodvibes

We're still 2 months out from being a year away. Can I call now and request my date and time for the WP? I thought you had to be a year out in order to do that... :confused3 if I can call now, does someone have the number to call? What do I tell them besides my date, time, and location? Do I have to have room conformations or is that only when I sign my contract?

Have you called DFTW at all? If you havent, then you can go ahead and call and get assigned a sales manager/wedding coordinator. On your first call they will ask you where you're looking at and some other basics. Then your SM will call you. You can ask them then if they can pencil you in for a date. However, this does not mean you will get the date. You will simply be on the calendar. At 12 months, if no one else has requested the same date and time then it will be yours. If someone has requested it, then you will both be put into a lottery. It's best to give your SM a few options to work with. Hope this helps!

Oh and you dont have to have any room confirmations or anything like that until much later, like contract time.

for us, it was important that we got the 2:30 slot. We originally wanted Tues 11th Dec but there was another couple using the same travel agent as us here in the Uk that also wanted it, so I went straight to Disney only to find that a Custom/Wishes wedding also wanted it and they got priority over us as we're Intimate/Escape. We got our 2nd choice - 2:30 Thurs 13th Dec.

Thanks for all the responses. :goodvibes We ARE pencilled in for our date and time, so hearing that other wedding consultants can see that and will try to persuade future couples to take other dates/times/locations is a huge relief.:thumbsup2 When she pencilled us in she DID say no one else was looking at our date/time/etc so that made me feel a little good. I'm just antsy! lol. The date is absolutely non-negotiable...and the location...we REALLY don't want to change it, but I would be willing to pay a little extra for dinner reception prices just to stay with our date and location. Thanks for all of your help...I feel a little better knowing that being "pencilled in" actually means something lol. :woohoo:

Man...I thought having a DFTW was supposed to be stress free?? lol

Haha I thought the same thing, yet I'm still stressing! :) It'll be ok though. Once you get your date, you'll feel better. Then you just have to stress about the actual day ;) Good Luck!

My wedding date is 14 months away and we were able to meet with a coordinator for a site visit last week. Once we picked the date, times and sites Kristi (the coordinator) looked at the calender and told us that so far no one wanted the same times and places we did, so we should be ok. She penciled us in and told us that a few days before the one year mark she will call us to get the contract started.
If you have not called Disney yet I recomend you do so ASAP. I think you only need a your room confirmation number if you are having an Escape wedding. If you still need the number met me know.
