Ok, I know I am not the first to think of this, as I just thought of it today, but boy this worked out well.

I put the tree in the stand with the netting on and then made it straight. Only after I was pretty OK with it being straight did I cut the netting off. This went SO MUCH smoother than trying to do it after taking the netting off.

Neat idea!

We used those plastic stands for years and always had crooked trees. My husband came home with one of those deep metal ones last year and our tree has never looked straighter!

Well, we can usually get the tree straight. It's the tree topper that stumps us.

We use an angel topper. Every year she's a little tilted. No matter what we do, she kind leans to 1:00 or 11:00. Looks like a firecracker about to launch. We fondy call her our "Blast Off" angel.
