Getting white film on dishes from homemade detergent

I recently made my own laundry detergent, cleaners, wipes and Dishwash detergent based on a thread here. LOVE everything except for the dishwash detergent which is leaving a white film on everything. Did anyone else who followed the recipes get this? (50/50 Borax and Baking soda, 2T per load)

I have yet to make my own dishwasher detergent - but I would love to!

I do make my own laundry detergent.

I'd love to hear other comments and suggestions!

I love my homemade laundry soap but I have never liked any of the homemade dish soap. It has always left a film and my dishes (white) looked dingy.

I don't use homemade dishwasher detergent but my MIL bought me a box of some kind of generic diswasher detergent and it was leaving a white film on everything. I add white vinegar to the rinse and it takes care of the film.

So do you have to wait until the rinse cycle, open up the dishwasher and then put it in? I don't know if I could be that disciplined!

Just fill up the tank with the white vinegar where you would normally put the 'Jet Dry' type of product.
