I voted a straight Republican ticket. We lost. I will still continue to live my life in a manner that is true to my beliefs no matter who is in office. And, I will not lower myself to the point of bashing anyone, even if I happen to not agree with their views or stance.

That being said, I do feel that it is a shame that people cannot be more respectful of one another. These campaigns are shameful on both sides. We need to get back to a more united America. You get more done when you work together as a team. United we stand, divided we fall.

A few years back the only posts for the left were sent to me in Personal Messages because they were AFRAID of the people on this board!

Right now I feel what was felt by 90% of this board back in 2000, 2001 and 2004. Life changes, it's part of the deal.

However, I would like to point out that in the Clinton years I had the EXACT feelings you had the past 6. It goes both ways. Its how you deal with it maturely that makes you the person you are. My DD worked for deval Patrick and he got elected MA governor. She just turned 18 and is beyond psyched. My folks have always been republicans but I am the rebellious democratic daughter.I actually wouldnt let the party stop me if I actually liked what the candidate had to say. As many have stated, you might want to reconsider moving to Canada. They have things like gay marriage and *gasp* free medical care in that country, so I'm sure you wouldn't like it much.

But hey...given the attitude of many on the right, I'm sure you'd find Afghanistan hospitable. They KILL gays, after all, and EVERYONE has to live under the same religious belief and law.

Higher taxes: Republicans ALSO raise taxes, and they only give tax breaks to the rich.
Gay marriage: I have no problem with this.
Illegals coming in: Already happening, and Republicans have not done a damn thing to stop this.
Free stuff for illegals: It's the rich Republicans in the big businesses who hire them as cheap labor. The Republicans are part of the reason why they come here, stay, and get free stuff.
24 abortion clinics: I have no problem with this either.
A degraded military: If Bush & Co. would bring the troops home, they wouldn't be so degraded as they already are.
Further erosion of family values: Why would the Dems erode family values? The Conservative GOP Political and Christian Right have already done a great job at doing this: Rev. Ted Haggard, Mark Foley, need I say more?


If you want to go to Canada, go on ahead.
