Getting Visa Rewards Card at park?

Please Help!--I want to make sure I know exactly what I doing because I'm counting on my rewards card as my spending money for our upcoming trip.

I'm a Disney Visa card holder, but I haven't used my rewards since 2008. My rewards card expired and I want to get a new card for this year's trip with my new points. I know that I can get the rewards card in the park, but I'm wondering if it's as easy as it sounds. The site says to bring my ID and Visa card to the park and they'll give me my rewards card (as long as I have at least 20 points, which I do). Is it this easy? and I can put all of my rewards on the card? Anyone out there done this?

Last time I got it in the mail, but want to continue to try and get as many points as I can until our trip and I don't want to order it and have it now get to us in time. Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is really that easy. You take your Visa and ID to guest services at the parks or Downtown Disney. Tell them that you need a Disney Visa Rewards card. They will give you a card in an envelope with a number to call. You can use their house phone or your cellphone to call the number. You will give them your account information and the number from the card you just received at guest services and they will transfer the money to the card. As soon as we hung up, we checked the balance and the money was there and good to go!

Last time I ordered the card ahead of time, but I think it took weeks to get to me and I really don't want to chance missing it in the mail before we leave. I just worry that I'll get down there and they'll say "Well, you should've brought your rewards card with you; we can't issue cards"

I'm glad you asked this & someone answered. I was wondering the same thing - if it would really be that easy to redeem the points at WDW. I have been debating on ordering the points through mail or redeeming them at WDW.

I'm glad it helped you too. I really don't want to risk not receiving my card before we go, so I'm hoping that it really is this easy. We'll see!

I am going to be doing the same thing in August. The first night we are eating at DTD and know that you can get the card and transfer the points at Guest Relations in DTD Westside. Does anyone know where guest relations is located there?

I was hoping this was possible We are arriving on Sunday night & having dinner at Raglan Road & I was going to redeem my points. Now just to figure out where to redeem them???

I'm planning to do the same thing as our closing date is always around the 25th of the month and we will be leaving on the 27th to drive and want to have all available rewards for our trip.

This is the only way I have ever done mine. DH has gotten a card in the mail, but I picked mine up at the park. Worked like a charm.
