hey guys, im currently going to college in the states and plan on getting a ps3 over here as it will be a lot cheaper than buying one back home in england. I know about the region free stuff which doesn't bother me, im just concerned about how i'd actually get it up and running. I don't have a HDTV back home so how will i get the signal to work on my tv and what kind of transformer would i need to buy to adjust for the voltage?

is there anything else i need to know before i plan on doing this?

would love to know the answer to this one too

but will the games work here :confused3 or will you have to buy US games like with the PS2

I suspect you will need a step down converter as the US models will probably work on a 120v AC supply and would be blown by our 240v mains. Sony could always supply them with variable power supplies but I doubt it

As far as games are concerned I believe Sony (and Nintendo if you interested in the Wii) has stated that it would like games to be region free and intend to develop any in-house ones this way. However, they have stated that the consoles will have a region code that developers can use if they do wish to produce games locked to a particular region.

Not sure about TV signals but i think Sony have decided to include a HDMI cable now, so if you have a suitable TV you will be able to get a true HD picture :)
