Hey, sorry if this is in the wrong place but I'm going to WDW and was wondering the ways to get to US.

I have previously used a taxi and Mears but I was just wondering if it can be done through normal buses from the (i think) Disney Transportation Center.

Any info would be great :)

You can take Lynx but it will take a couple of hours to get to Universal. It's just not worth it.

Hmm thanks, would you happen to know how much mears is now?

I think the prices may have changed since i used them

How far is the drive from AKL or OKW? Thinking of making a trip in Octover to see HP but would love to stay at DVC to save some money.

Hi,

We just returned from AKL Kidani and went to Universal two days of our trip. We used the Lynx buses. The first day was Wednesday it took 2 hours from the time we left AKL till we arrived at Universal. We went back on Saturday and it took 2-1/2 hours. It was simple to do and the buses were on schedule. Our way back on Saturday we decided to grab a cab and it was $40 to get back to AKL and took about 45 minutes. There were 7 of us. It only cost $2 and you get a tranfer for the Lynx. So you have to weigh the money against the time and convenience.

Glad you had a good experience on our buses. I would never recommend taking the buses because of the time needed but you're right...people will have to weigh cost vs. time.

Since so many will be going to both Disney and Universal due to HP, it would be nice if one (or more) of the town car services recognized that this is a great opportunity for extra business and gave special prices for the jaunt between the two.

I don't want to take the 2 hour long Lynx bus, I haven't had the best experiences with Mears, I don't exactly trust taxi cab driver's driving (or is it just Chicago taxi drivers that drive like absolute maniacs?), but have had really good experiences with town car service in FL.

Well, I think I will check prices on town cars for a Universal/Disney vacation.

UPDATE: I checked out one of the town car services I have used in the past. For a one way trip from Universal to Disney using a town car, it is $41-52, depending on where, in Disney, you are staying (Magic Kingdom resorts cost a tad more). This does not include a tip. I think it's a good price.

Thank you for posting your update. I too am going to take my daughter over to US when we are at WDW in a few months, and had planned on using a taxi/town car as well.
It might be cheaper to rent a car---but---for a few extra dollars I can let someone else do the driving, and I can relax on the way back to Coronado Springs Resort...

Another option is to buy a 1 day 2 parks ticket including round-trip :santa: transfers (from Disney area hotels). I have got mine from Dreams Unlimited Travel (see link at top of the page!). I think it was $110 plus tax - same price as a 1 day/2 park ticket without transfers I believe.

That might be an option for you? :santa:
