Okay, I've never been to one of the outlet locations, but Dsis has and said she might like to go again on our July trip. Fine with me! But, we're not renting a car, so how can we get to the nearest location?

1. Any info on using a taxi? Cost?

2. Or any car services and the cost?

3. Would a car rental for a day be the best option? If so, where do you suggest we do this? We'll be at the YC for 3 nights then SSR for the last 4 nights?

Thanks! I appreciate the help!

Bump!! I'd like to know as well! :)

Bumping to see if anyone can help us Kimmielee!

I can only help a little.

1) :confused3
2)Car service has a minimum charge of 3 hours so this is probably over $100 for a TC,
3)I think car rental is a great option...I believe Alamo will pick you up or you can take the boat to the Swan. You might want to rent a car the afternoon before you switch hotels, go to the outlets, make a ADR at a Resort Restaurant or OS -so you can put the car to good use. Then the next morning you might want to transport yourselves and luggage to SSR and check in(early). You could then drive yourself off to a park or drop off the car. I think I usually can find a midsize car for about $40 dollars. Don't forget you can sometimes use Starwood points to rent a car for cheap or atleast get FF credits for renting the car.

Thanks so much for the help! It does help quite a bit! I like your suggestion about renting a car the night before we transfer to SSR and use that time to go to the outlet. I'll have to discuss it with Dsis and see what she thinks.

Thanks again!

Some car rental places have cheaper deals online than in person. My sister needed to rent a pickup truck to move some furniture, and went to her local Hertz. They wanted $20 more for the day than the online rate! So she went home, made a reservation online, and went back to rent the truck. So, that said, you may want to book in advance online if that will give you a better rate.

If you're going to the outlets to save money, you may want to take into account how much you'll save. If it's not the equivalent of the cost of the car rental, then it might not be worthwhile. If it were me, I'd use my time off site to eat a meal at a bargain, non-Disney rate! :)

The closest outlet center to Disney is the Premier Outlets, just "up the road and around the corner" from Downtown Disney. It's maybe two or three miles from there by cab; more, of course, if you're coming from your resort. But if you chose THAT destination, a cab would be cheaper than renting a car.

The nearest outlet is the Character Premier at the Orlando Premium outlets. It is indeed just around the corner. The next outlet is also a Character Premier at the Prime (formerly Belz) outlets. That is near Univeral on I Drive. There used to be 2 Disney outlets at Prime but I found out the hard way last week that the Character Warehouse closed.

These outlets offer discontinued or out of season merchandise for usually 30 to 70% off of Disney pricing. WE always stop and save a bundle. This trip I was able to get a MNSSHP T shirt (which I could not get during the party the night I was there) for $5.00, A couple of months ago I got a very nice denim jacket with Mickey on the back for $25.00 (reg price 89.00)

Either taxi or Lynx (Orlando public transportation) would be the best and cheapest way to the Premium outlets.

Last time I was in Disney, I stayed at All Star Sports and took a cab to the Premier Outlets, it was like $12 each way. The outlets were great for other shopping other then for Disney merchandise. There was a Coach, Burberry, Fendi, Dooney and Burke outlets. It was great for a few hours of shopping therapy!
