Hello
We are leaving in 9 days for our trip to Japan! Beyond excited, but very nervous as well!

In any event we are spending 1.5 days in Tokyo before heading to DL and DS, our hotel is the Tavinos in Asakusa. How do we get to the Disneyland Hotel from there? Also, will they accept luggage forwarding for us? Would it be same day or next day if we sent it from Asakusa? Or should we just lug it along?

ETA this juncture of the trip we are staying at the Alice in Wonderland rooms, I think that is Disneyland Hotel. The next section of the trip we will be leaving from Nagoya heading to Mira Costa. I guess I have the same questions for that part!

Ty

Thank you!

The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel accepts forwarded luggage. Whether it gets there on the same day or the next day will depend on what time you send it, how much you pay, and which company you use. Ask the front desk at your first hotel when you arrive and they should be able to help you out with that.

For getting there, you have two good options.

First, you can just take a taxi. The hotel can call one for your. This way, you can also take your luggage with you. This option will cost more, but it's very convenient.

Alternatively, you can use the trains. This option is much cheaper, but much less convenient. From Asakusa, the easiest way is probably to take the Ginza Line to Ueno, then catch any train going to Tokyo Station (e.g. Hibiya Line), then catch the Keiyo Line to Maihama. From Maihama Station, you can walk right up to the Disneyland monorail and then take that to the hotel. For other train options, see here:

I used 9am tomorrow for the time, but you can change that to whatever you need.

Either way, the trip is about 35-45 minutes. Keep in mind that if you're taking luggage with you, then you probably don't want to take the trains during rush hour. Also, the walk inside Tokyo Station down to the Keiyo Line is quite long.

From Nagoya, take the Shinkansen to Tokyo Station. Then, take a taxi directly to Mira Costa or take the Keiyo Line to Maihama and the monorail to Disney Sea. If you're shipping luggage from Nagoya, you'll almost certainly want to ship it one day in advance.

Expect next day luggage transfer if you do it through your hotel. Same day delivery services will likely cost at least double and hotels generally don't assist with them.

Some clarification on the transportation instructions:

The Hibiya line does not go to Tokyo station and instead meets the Keiyo Line at Hatchobori which I don't recommend with luggage because you must carry your luggage up stairs for that transfer (no elevator or escalator). But it is correct to take the Ginza Line to Ueno rather than Kanda which may be suggested by Google because the Ginza line platform only has stairs at Kanda station. From Ueno, you'd connect take a JR line to Tokyo station (likely the Yamanote line). I personally find it less troublesome to just walk from Maihama station to the Disenyland Hotel rather than take luggage on the monorail.

Your shinkansen ticket from Nagoya actually includes a transfer all the way up to Kasai Rinkai Park which is one station from Maihama. If you don't mind a bit of a walk in Tokyo station, you could actually get your taxi at the taxi stand right outside that station which will save you around 4K JPY compared to taking one all the way from Tokyo station. If you take the train all the way to Maihama, you will not be able to use the automatic gate to exit and should go to the manned booth on the right to pay the additional 150 JPY fare.
