We are hopefully going to DxL from 19 June - 3 July and while we're there we are very keen to see John Edward's seminar on 1 July in Tampa. Coming from the UK my sister (26) is nervous about hiring a car (and driving on the right) and driving such a difference for the first time, we wondered whether anybody could give us any suggestions about alternative methods of transport (e.g. bus/train etc.) to Tampa.

#1MMFan, driving in Florida is a piece of cake, the rental cars all have automatic transmissions and the better ones even have cruisecontrol. The highway from Orlando to Tampa is easy to master, there may only be some construction work under way, the required time should be about 90 minutes one-way. The speedlimits are similar to those in the UK.
As someone who has traveled about 2000 kilometers with a car in the UK I know how you must feel, but as long as you are driving mainly highways it's really no problem. The only thing which needs special attention is turning: You usually tend to move to the left side of the street after a turn, but with some concentration this shouldn't be a problem for you. You will be more comfortable with a car than with public transport.
BTW if you go to EXPEDIA you can plan your trip in advance and print all necesary maps and charts on your PC. Or Hertz may even offer cars with a navigational computer.

We found driving to Tampa from Orlando not bad but close to and in Tampa on the highway we found it a little scary. The lanes don't hold their position and change quite rapidly and often. You really have to know where you are going and REALLY pay attention to the signs. Their signage does get an A+.
We watch John Edwards all the time. Very interesting guy. I would try to get there. Please post back if you do, would love to hear your reaction.

Leaving the airport and driving thru Tampa is a bit scary specially at rush hour! After that it's a breeze to WDW. If it where me I would try the Delta flight to Orlando, faster and less worry. Specially when you are use to driving on the left!!!
