Getting to monorail from WL?

My sister loves to ride the monorail. Is it a huge pain to take the boat from WL over to MK or Contemporary to get on the monorail and then switch monorails to get to Epcot? We've both been to Disney often enough that we're not exactly park commandos so time is not a huge issue. I've heard the bus transportation from WL isn't that great (which I also heard about AKL but it was fine). I really don't want to rent a car since we're not planning on leaving the World once we get there. I know that we'll have to take the bus to MGM and AKL but I was hoping to get in as many monorail rides as possible.

We did not find it a pain, but we took it slow this time. I would not try it in a rush. We did it that way several times. Have a great trip!

Just returned from a 1 week stay at WL. I didn't find the bus transportation a pain at all. We thought it was just fine.

Any time we wanted to take the monorail, we simply rode the boat to the Contemporary and got on there.... the boat ride is very peaceful.

You can also take a bus from WL to TTC and get on either monorail from there. We have stayed at WL many times and have found the transportation to be fine. If you are not commandos you should be OK with the transportation. We have stayed at other WDW resorts and have found the transportation at the WL to be as good as the others.

The buses and boats come every 15 to 20 minutes and if you just missed one, you will have to wait for the next one.

The boat ride to the MK from the WL is 10 minutes or less before 3 pm.

How far is the boat dock at the CR to the monorail loading deck?

Is it much of a walk?

Does the CR have an elevator to the monorail deck now...I seem to remember escalators were the only option.

Thanks,
Karen

Don't think buses go to the TTC any more. they use DTD as a hub now.

As of Feb. of this year the WL and FW were the only two resorts with buses to and from the TTC. The buses ran until 2:00 am. Maybe Chip 'n Dales Express can answer whether this is still true.

There is an elevator to the monorail platform.

The walk is from the end of the Contemporary's (long) dock into the tower, up the elevators to the Grand Canyon Concourse, then the final elavator to the monorail platform. Both elevators are adjacent to one another and just inside the rear entrance to the tower. Total time from boat to monorail can't take five minutes.

You are correct. I just returned from WL and they do have a bus to the TTC. WL and FW are the only two that have this.
