Getting to MK on Saturday

With the 1/2 Marathon taking place on Saturday...how difficult will it be to get to the TTC for park opening? From what I have read most runners will be past MK by 8:00, but wasn't sure what road closures looked like and if it would be possible to make rope drop coming from off-property.

Can't speak to the issue of driving to the TTC, as we rode the bus last year on that Saturday. But there were definitely road closures and delays.

Bus picked us up at All Star Sports at 8am. It did not let us out at the MK parking lot like usual. Instead, it dropped us at the Ticket and Transportation Center at 8:50 am, and it was 9:15 am by the time we got into the park.

I finally found the road closure map...based on that, I think we can go by Disney Springs and Port Orleans...to Vista Blvd...to TTC.

Where did you find the closure map?

After squinting at it in photoshop...I determined it was the 2016 closure map, but would assume it is about the same...though someone has since told me that the line I drew won't work as the only way to get to the TTC is World Drive and that road would only work to drop someone off...so there will be no way to access the TTC until when the road opens at 7:30...and then I would assume there will be a lot of traffic.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to park at animal kingdom and take the bus to Poly or the Contemporary? But not sure many buses would be leaving parks to go to resorts at 8am?
We want to be at MK at 8:30 on Sunday but we're staying off-site, close to AK.
