We are staying at the All Star Sports Resort and the MK opens at 9am. We want to be there before opening. How long does it take to get from our hotel the MK? What time do we need to leave the hotel? Is there a schedule that indicates what time the shuttles depart the hotels? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

They aren't really "shuttles" (like you'd get in an offsite hotel) in that there is no schedule. They just come all day about every twenty minutes, starting about one hour or so before the park opens until a couple hours after the park closes.

It is the farthest park from your hotel so to MK about 25 minute ride.

Edited to add: to be there for rope drop and be toward the front of the crowd be at the bus stop about 7:30 :)

When we stayed at All Star Music (right by Sports), we usually got to the bus stop around 8am, and were at the parks no later than 8:30am. That included time waiting for bus to load, stopping at any of the All Stars if needed, etc.

We went at a low crowd time though, so the busses didn't fill up too fast. If you are going at a peak time, I'd do what the pp said and get there around 7:30 - 7:45, just in case the bus fills up and you have to wait for the next one.

The bus will start running about 8am. From Sports it'll take about 15 mins to get to MK. Best thing about staying onsite and using the buses is you get to skip the tram and monorail to get to MK. Just be at the bus stop by 8:15 and you will be at MK before rope drop. For Disbey buses there is no set schedule time. They run constantly, they will tell you every 20 mins because typically there are 2 buses for every route. So ideally as one is leaving Sports for MK, one is leaving MK for Sports. This does not apply to the hours between 12-5, you will get slower bus service because most people are in the parks or just going back to the hotel for a break. If you are getting a standard room at Sports ask for bldg 10, there is a great short cut to the buses without having to go through the lobby.

I moved your post here to our Transportion Board where the experts can give you great advice.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

The buses actually start running from every resort to all parks at about 6:40 AM regardless of the time the park opens (well earlier if they open at 7...but for 8-9 AM openings the buses start at 6:30-6:45 AM). If you ask the front desk they will tell you one hour prior but it is not the case.

I would be at the bus stop at 8:00. That will give you more than enough time.

Buses start running to the MK, from all Disney resorts by 6:30am...every morning. Sometimes they actually start a bit earlier, at 6:15. These buses run less frequently than the regular park buses do...so plan accordingly. If you just miss one, you may have to wait over 20 mins for the next one. At about 7:30, they start a more regular schedule and come much more frequently.
To be at the park, before park opening, I would be out at the MK bus stop by 8:15.

I agree that you should be at the bus station just before 8:00 AM if you want to be at the Magic Kingdom when it opens.

As a rule of thumb, you should allow 45 minutes travel time when only one bus is involved. It usually won't take that long, but that allows for just missing a bus and waiting for the next one, maximum travel distance, and normal delays.

The park opening show at MK starts about 10 minutes before the official opening, so 8 a.m. or a few minutes before is just about right.
