Getting to MK for an early ADR

This past January, I had an early ADR in the MK. I did research ahead of time and from what I found, the best way to get to MK for an early ADR is to take a cab. I was staying at AK Jambo House and I talked with Bell Services ahead of time to also ask them what was the best way to get to MK for a 7:30 ADR. I was told that buses would not start running until an hour before the park opened (which was 9am that day) and the only way I could get there earlier was to take a cab. So, morning of ADR, I take a cab and tell the cab driver I need to go to MK for an early breakfast ADR. He says he can only take me to the TTC. At the TTC, a Disney employee tells me that the monorail and boat do not start running until an hour before park opening. So, I ask cab driver to please take me to the Contemporary and I will just walk from there. After I pay my $30 cab fare and start walking to MK, I see several buses dropping off guests from many of the resorts. I was so frustrated and disappointed! I wanted to get there a few minutes before my ADR to enjoy taking in Main Street without a lot of other people. But, I had to practically run to make my ADR and really did not enjoy it at all.

I am planning another trip for January 2013 and this time I am planning for 14 other family members and want to get it right! Everyone wants to have breakfast in the castle. I am dreading it since last time it was such a nightmare trying to get there. Is it possible to get a bus for an early ADR at the Castle? The cab driver I had barely spoke English and kept telling me I would just have to wait at the TTC until the monorails started running which according to what I was being told would have made me late for my ADR. So, what is the best way to get to MK for an early morning ADR? I am sure there is a better way!

I'm sorry that you were misinformed - unfortunately resort CMs are often unreliable when it comes to transportation issues. Buses start running by 6:30 every single morning. Be at the bus stop 1 hour before your ADR.

Resort CMs seldom have good info regarding transportation. Not sure why this is the case, but it is.
So....buses start running by 6:30am, every day, from every resort, to each park. You can get a bus to MK at that time. Now, you do have to understand that the buses don't run quite as frequently this early. They run about every 25 mins or so...sometimes more often, especially to the MK. Let's say you book an ADR, at the Castle, for 8am. You should be out at the MK bus stop by 6:45ish.

Now, if you opt for cabs, which you can do, you want to go to the CR..not the TTC. Just tell the cabbie you need to get to the Contemporary Resort. Then, you can just walk over to MK....takes about 8 mins.

We have always used buses with no problems to get to our early ADRs at the parks.

I think it's really irksome that Cast Members can't or don't just look outside once in a while, early in the day, and maybe then question Management, "Why is there a Magic Kingdom bus and an Epcot bus loading outside, since it's only 6:35 AM?"

Of course, then we'd need to give less information and have more time for general discussions like, "How can Massachusetts license drivers who either ignore or don't comprehend 'NO TURN ON RED' and then have the nerve to wave at the right-of-way driver after cutting them off????"

Now I realize that I was given mis-information twice on that trip! I also took a cab from AK Jambo House to AK for an 8am Wild Africa Trek tour. I was also told by AK Jambo House CM that was my only way to get to AK by 7:45. (that was the guys working out in front of the lodge that call the cabs that told me that. Of course they knew buses came earlier. Not nice) Grrrrr......now I know!
