My DW is running leg 2 of the Marathon Relay. We are staying at Wilderness Lodge and she would prefer not to have to go to Epcot at 3 AM. So far, I think the best options are:

  • Drive to the East side of the MK lot, run across the marathon traffic to get to the relay area.
  • Drive across Seven Seas Road and park at the Poly, walk across the bridge to the relay area.
  • Drive across Seven Seas road and try to park in the lot just north of Pluto (now Simba).

What do y'all think? Will the 3rd option even be possible? What would you do?

Long story short take a taxi to TTC-taxi stand or Poly.

Transportation to TTC is supposed to start at 6:30-6:45 a.m. from the Lodge. Buses to MK for early breakfast reservations will go to TTC for transfer to Monorail during the race. Confirm with your bus driver that they are going to TTC before you ride. If you tell them they are supposed to take you to TTC for breakfast connections at monorail resorts. This sounds wrong to me because you will be on the wrong side of the course. I have been told by transportation on two occasions that this is how it is supposed to work.

You might be able to kiss and drop at the TTC-taxi area; I would expect guards here marathon morning. Poly will only be open to guests with reservations.

People will attempt to walk but they will be on the wrong side of the course. Guards might prevent you from doing this. The course has metal barriers along this area. East Side drop has the same problem.

You will not be alone in this. I would share a taxi to the TTC-Taxi area. Spectators from the Wilderness Lodge will want to get there too. I wouldn't want to wait for Disney buses on this one. Then again it might be OK if you get the first ride out.
