It's Friday the 13th!!! Are you superstitious?

Irish Catholic here! But not about everything just alot of things.
I would never walk under a ladder and bless myself when a black cat crosses my path but have no problem travelling or staying on the 13th floor.

No, I don't think about superstitions either- I probably wouldn't be able to list 5 without looking some of the up.

Not about Friday the 13th, but I do follow some of them. I try not to walk under ladders, but have when it's easier not to go around. I guess that's the main one...no, I cross my fingers when I'm looking for a little extra luck.

Not about most things. But my Grandparents were big time. Salt over the shoulder, knocking on wood, crossing of the fingers, sign of the cross at black cats, no under ladders. Helped my Grandpa one time by holding the ladder and I was under it, thought my Grandma was gonna freak big time. Told her not to worry, I went under and came back out on the same side. Didn't cross completely under it. They believed in itchy palms, ears ringing, bells ringing, Buddha belly rubs. Yup, lots of strange stuff.

Nope, got engaged on Friday the 13th (not on purpose) and had a black cat for years. The cat was so sweet. And DH and I have been married for nearly 11 years, so everything is good there too!

Yes and no for me... Raised Irish Catholic, with a crazy mom off the boat from Ireland, who was loaded with superstitions...

I had a black cat for years...he was my baby (my mom hated all cats, especially my black one ) I will walk under a ladder, and spill salt, broken mirrors don't phase me. All these things were her thing, including the number 13. Mom had a thing about opening umbrellas inside too

I will knock on wood though, she did that, and when there wasn't wood she would knock on her head I do believe in karma points in the universe. I believe that what goes around comes around, and can site examples to non-believers

Not that I actually think that things will happen but I do x out black cats, salt over the shoulder, etc.

Kinda' funny, in a sick kind of way......a black cat ran across our path before Virg died.....I x'd it out.....he didn't mmmmmmmmm

Yes same here. It wasn't until I started reading the answers that I realized what real superstitions were. My sister was born on Friday 13th, so it has never been a bad day around here.

Ok, I will knock on wood, which in my case is usually my head. Since DH says I'm stubborn and hard headed. I prefer "persistent."

Never walk under a ladder
Never cross the path of a black cat
If a knife falls on the floor you'll have company
If your nose itches you'll have a fight
If your right hand itches you'll get money; left hand itches you'll lose money
Never open an umbrella indoors
If your ears are ringing someone is talking about you
Never put shoes on a table or you'll have a fight
Your purse on the floor means you'll lose money
Don't buy yourself opals, opals should only be received as a gift or it's bad luck
Breaking a mirror brings 7 years bad luck
. . . those are the ones I can think of right now . . .
