Getting to Hoop Dee Doo

We are planning on getting ADR's for a 7:15 show. We are staying off site. Is our best bet to drive to MK that morning and take the boat over that evening? How early should we get to the boat dock? Is there a better plan for getting there that day? We could spend the day at another park and then drive over to FW but then I've heard you have to wait for a bus to pioneer hall.
Just worried the line for the boat to take us back to parking lot at MK will be long.
Any suggestions or experiences?

We were just there, we made a wrong turn (via our gps) and ended up at Wilderness Lodge rather than Fort Wilderness. We ended up taking the boat from the lodge to the fort. We saw the group getting off the boat from MK and it was not a crowded boat either direction. I think going to MK for the day and going to HDDR via the boat may be the way to go. I saw the crowd headed to the bus to Ft. Wilderness from HDDR and it looked like it may get pretty crazy. Whatever you decide, be sure to leave early, it does take some time to get there.

I would take the boat from MK. If you drive, you still have to catch a bus from the FW entrance back to where HDDR is. The boat takes you close so you can walk to HDDR from there. When you get there, you have to check in. They will direct you to get your picture taken and try to sell it to you at dinner. If you don't want your picture, just tell them while checking in.

It is great show.

If you do it this way, after the show you will have to take the boat back to the MK, take the boat or monorail back to the TTC and then a tram to your car. If its closing time for the MK its going to be a long trip.

If you go on a non MK day you would just park at the overflow lot at FW, take a very short bus ride back to Pioneer Hall and another one to get back to your car.

You could probably walk back to your car after the show and be back in your hotel in the time it would take you to take the MK route at closing. (Wouldn't want to walk, its about a mile away)

Now if you were going to go back into MK after the show thats a different matter.

Sorry - quick question about HDDR. How long are the shows? I ask because we are going to a 9:30 show a night that MK is open until midnight, so I'm thinking we should be able to take the boat back to MK and then still have some time at MK before the end of EMH. Thanks!
