Getting to Hoop-Dee-Doo review

A Minnie Van will take you right to near the entrance of Hoop. If you bus or boat to Ft Wilderness I believe you have to take another bus at Ft Wilderness to the back where Hoop is
The boat from MK drops you off at the area where Pioneer Hall is located. No internal transfer needed. But if you take a bus from one of the other parks to the Fort, you will be dropped off at the Outpost and will have to catch an internal bus.

As fyi, the bus to the Fort from MK drops guests out near Pioneer Hall/HDDR in the Settlement Bus Depot area down by Bay Lake (same place generally speaking as the boat dock).

Only the bus from MK comes into this area of the Fort (same as the boat).

My point here is that the Fort bus from DHS/EP/AK will go to the front of the Fort (Outpost bus depot) which will require an extra (internal) transfer to get to Pioneer Hall/HDDR. It's about a mile bus ride from the Outpost down to the Settlement to get to the show.

So travel to MK first and then take bus or boat to the Fort (both are a short walk to the show). Same in reverse when the HDDR show is over. That's the more direct path.

PS - we choose to take the boat ride whenever we can. It's very peaceful and relaxing.

Anything besides a ride share will take you a longer time than you think it will. If you don't go by Uber or Lyft leave PLENTY of time to wait for bus at POR then at MK you have to get to the boat and you may have to wait there for a bit and by the time it's all said and done you will want to follow Disney's rec of an hour and a half to be on the safe side, Also bc with HDD you ideally wanna be there early for check in plus more time if you need to talk to the chef outside.

And if you do take rideshare, it will drop you off at the Outpost, and then you’ll take an internal bus to the Settlement where HDD is, as described above. So allow time to wait for that bus too. The only rideshare that drops you off at the Settlement is the Minnie Van (ordered via the Lyft app).

Personally, we take resort transportation to MK and boat from there. We love the cruise!

Be aware, though, that ride shares like Uber and Lyft CAN NOT take you anywhere near Pioneer Hall/HDDR at Fort Wilderness. Ride shares can only drop you out at the Outpost area (near the Fort Check-In building which then requires an internal bus ride to get to HDDR as described above).

Only the Minnie Van (paying thru the nose) can carry you directly down near Pioneer Hall/HDDR for an equivalent "ride share" that actually gets you somewhere close to the show. Because Disney wants to disadvantage EVERY OTHER RIDE service except their own (and will charge you an arm and a leg for their advantaged ride). That's what Disney does.

PS - of course, after DVC finishes the eyesore timeshare resort near Pioneer Hall/HDDR in 2 years or so, you COULD take an Uber/Lyft ride to the eyesore resort  then just wander over to the dinner show-and in reverse when the show is over. Minnie Van will then lose "mucho dinero". Not that I care. :sad2:

Yes Minnie Van is the way to go for speed but been there done that with the out of the way resort...wait for the bus...then bus traffic into MK...walk over to boat...wait for boat...it's the only restaurant I follow the advice Disney gives. It takes way too long to get there. I think once from AKL, which isn't THAT far from the PO complex...we hit everything just right. Bus was there...left right away...no traffic...boat was there just about to leave...and it still was about an hour door to door. Crazy!

since we had a car we drove. Still had to take an internal bus from the parking lot but it was no problem. It’s a great show no matter how you get there.

You are so close to FW with your stay at POR use the Minnie van on Lyft or other rideshare (10min) and then the short internal bus (5-8min depending on stops). If you bus to MK and boat over to Pioneer Hall you are adding so much extra travel time (WDW recommends 90min).

I think I found the issue. :rotfl2:

Granted, it's not convenient to get to HDDR. But it still books up (and has for decades longer than any other dinner show at WDW-not that any more are left). Usually the late show (830pm) is the last to have ANY availability and by show night very few tables left at that (although the upstairs sides are usually the last to book).

TLDR: it's not something you ZIP over to (unless you donate a kidney to the Minnie Van folks). It's not like jumping on the monorail to CR for The Wave or GF for any of their table service.

But consider the AYCTE decent food, tax and tip included in the price, and you are entertained with songs, humor, and dance, it's a rare value in my book. I didn't say it was inexpensive - but for what you pay you get a lot.

PS - but I agree with Moo for the OP. Port Orleans is close to Fort Wilderness so splurge on the Minnie Van. There will never probably be a shorter commute between PO and HDDR other than to the Wilderness Lodge area (which has a frequent direct bus anyway).
