We are staying at Daytona Beach Shores for our next trip. Which way is best to get there? On Mapquest, is shows going toward Cape Canaveral and down the coast; on Yahoo Maps it shows going down I-4. Any opinions? :confused3

The best way is 417 to I-4 to Daytona. Going Beeline to 95 and north on 95 is definitely longer. The rest of this week is Bike week at Daytona so there will be ungodly amounts of traffic either way.

We aren't going until the end of April/first of May. I don't know of anything going on there at that point. Thanks though! You know you can't always trust those online maps!

Yes, I definitely agree with going Route 4 especially if you are going to Universal. It's certainly the most direct route. Route 4 can get pretty congested in the Kissimmee area during AM and PM rush hours (more towards WDW) though - it's not quite so bad around the Universal area.

That's how we will go then. I think we should miss most of the rush hour traffic most days, so that shouldn't be a problem for us.

Thanks for you help!

If you know that you will miss rush hour, then go I4. If you could possibly travel during rush hour then take SR536 to SR417 to I4 in Sanford then just follow I4 into Daytona.

SR417 will cost you about $6.00 in tolls but is worth it during the rush hour times.
