Planning a “Disney Lite” day without park tickets. We are going to resort hop and use all the types of Disney transport. How should we get to the Fort? We wanted to do the sing along and roast marshmallows, but I understand I need to use buses to get around once we are there. Are the bus stops really obvious? I was thinking of taking the boat over, with a plan for Dole Whips at the Poly either before or after. I will have a car, but from what I’ve read parking is not guaranteed. Any advice welcome as I’ve never been to that resort.

If it's your day off, have a monorail crawl. And then catch the resort boat behind CR to the campground. The campground bus is a semi-short walk from the dock. It will drop off in front the Meadows near the campfire. Ask at the bus stop if you get confused.

Chip n Dale are cuties but it's not a must do and we stay at the campground.

if we bring our own marshmallows, can we just buy a stick there? I’ll carry food around but don’t want to deal with a roasting stick

If you use the bus stop at the Meadow trading post you can stock up there and then walk over the bridge, take a left at the pool and youre at the campfire.

When we travel from the Fort to the Poly for Dole whips we take the boat from the settlement over to the Magic kingdom, from there we either take a resort boat to the Poly (left as you exit the dock) or we ride the monorail. This can be time consuming and often takes over an hour combined.
An alternate would be to take a small boat from the Fort dock to the Contemporary and then go upstairs and catch the monorail to the Poly.
I am not sure of the hours at the Pineapple Lanai but you may want to check if your making a Dole whip run after the campfire.
There are maps of the Fort internal busses at the Outpost and Settlement bus stops. The 2 stops most convenient for the campfire are The Meadows trading post and the one at 600 loop.

I plan to do this exact same thing when we head to Disney World next weekend. The campfire starts up at 7pm, and you can buy a Smore kit which feeds at least four if not more, so no having to carry marshmallows around. They have a movie after the sing along, then you can go to the beach and watch the fireworks from Magic Kingdom, they pipe in the music. Then also, you can watch the Electrical Water Pageant which goes around to the different resorts in the evening as well.
