:goodvibes Well we frequent Chicago--but we've never been to Midway. Usually we take I-88 into Chicago, but maybe I-80 would be better?

Our flight is leaving on a Friday at 5:40 pm, ATA.

It normally takes us 3 hours to get downtown coming in on I-88. Any opinions on what time we should leave and a list of directions?

TIA!

Do a Search on this board for: Illinois question--what can you tell me about Midway? We were thinking of using Midway for the first time and I got wonderfully detailed information from our Disers in Illinois. Read over their responses and it should give you all you need. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

I would take I-80 to I-55 North. Take 55 to Cicero Ave and go South. If you take 88, you would need to backtrack South again on either 355 or 294.

Wouldn't want to guess on the time. Try mapquest maybe and add time for the airport. Cicero backs up anytime near rush hour and security at Midway has long lines in our experience although not as bad as MCO!

If there is any construction in I-80 I-88 will be faster. My parents live in SE Iowa and we always take 88 to Chicago. You can easily hit 294 south from there and then on to Midway.

I agree - security lines at Midway rival MCO!

good choice ,another option would be I-80 to I294 north, it is a toll road(294) get off at cicero and go north. Check the radio 780 am for your travel times and updates. :moped:
