Hi, My family has a Chef Mickey's reservation on our Epcot day at 11:55 am. We were thinking about taking the monorail, but not real sure if this is the best transportation idea or not and how much time it would take? Any suggestions or advice is much appreciated and welcomed.

Monorail requires a transfer at the TTC, but would be fun way to arrive to your meal via monorail into the hotel.

busses from Epcot can take you to the contemporary and then you just go upstairs to Chef Mickeys-- no problem either way.

I'd be getting on either mode around 11am-- you may be early for your meal but this gives wiggle room and esp if your first time navigating.

I would take the monorail. I still think you need to leave yourself 45 minutes from the time you leave the park to be safe. You will have to switch to the resort monorail at the TTC.

That's going to take a pretty good sized chunk of time out of your park day, but its your vacation....

IIRC, unless the monorail is down, it is the only way to get to the MK resorts. You take the Epcot monorail to the TTC, then transfer to the resort monorail, which will stop at the Poly, GF, and MK before getting to the CR. Give yourself 6o+ minutes each way for travel time.

So you would need to leave Epcot at 11:00. Expect to get back to Epcot around 2:00-2:30. (if you are going back after lunch).

Definitely take the monorail! It's like an attraction in itself and pulling into the contemporary is cool. As other posters have stated give yourself enough time as you will have to transfer at TTC and your stop will be at the end of the resort loop. Have fun!

There is a bit of a problem: There's not a bus from Epcot to the Contemporary.

Apologies, I didn't realize that. Makes sense since the monorail is more direct. Thank you.

Disney tells people to allow 90 minutes for transportation. There is no bus from Epcot to the CR. You'll take the monorail from Epcot to the TTC, then change monorails to the CR.

That is just what I was hoping for. Or fast passes are setup starting at 2:00 and after, so that would be great timing. We have been to Epcot many many times and are ok with missing a couple hours out of the day.

As Kimberle stated, Disney recommends you allow 90 minutes using their transportation to make it to ADRs. If you are late you may not be seated, and still have to pay the no show fee. Me, I'd much rather be early and do a little shopping at the stores in the Contemporary than stressing about being on time.
