Getting to Bike Barn from Outpost

We will be going to Ft Wilderness for the first time on Saturday. We are renting a golf cart but can't get it until after 1 PM so we are going to hit Epcot right after we get to FTW. When we get back from Epcot we will pick up the golf cart. What is the best way to get from the Outpost Depot to the Bike Barn to pick up the golf cart.

Also how do you keep others from taking off with your golf cart - are there locks?

There is a bus stop up front for buses that go through Ft Wilderness. The bike barn is in the center of the developed portion of the resort. Ride a bus to the stop at the 1500 loop then walk toward the big pool. The bike barn is near there.

The golf carts have keys...I doubt they are unique keys but no one can steal a golf cart from the property if they don't have a trailer to cart it so don't worry too much about that.

Take the Yellow bus and get off at Loop 1500 OR take the Orange Bus and get off at the Meadows stop.

Don't take the Purple bus, it doesn't go anywhere near the Bike Barn.

When you go over to the buses be sure and ask the driver when you get on. They will be glad to help you. Make sure you take your paper that WDW may have sent you if you did your cart reservation ahead of time. We didn't and had problems finding it and returning to the bike barn.

We just came back from our first FW visit and also rented a golf cart. We were also told of the 1:00 pick up time but called around 11:00 am to see if we could pick it up early and they said no problem. Have fun!

Thanks for letting me know. I doubt that one would be available when we first get there which will be around 9:30 or 10 AM - guess it won't hurt to call and ask before we head over to Epcot. Again thanks.

The Bike Barn closes at 6:00pm make sure you contact them about a later pick up. Call the Bike Barn directly with any questions you have. The phone number 407-824-2742

I'd head by the Bike Barn after you settle in--they may have your cart ready. If not, you could talk to them about picking it up later, since you are going to Epcot and may get back later than 6.

Keep up with your cart keys--they are so easy to forget to take out! You don't want to be walking back to your site late with a sleeping kid in a stroller because someone forgot to take out the keys and when you get back from MNSSHP the keys are gone!! Not that that ever happened to us....
