Getting things shipped home?

Not sure if this is the place for this question. We were planning on driving to disney now hubby has informed me that we may fly. So my question is how do you go about getting stuff shipped home? Is it outragous in shipping charges? I will plan on bringing at least one empty suitcase. I already no that I will be buying at least 2 box's of potato head parts. I will probably also get the castle toy that I have seen pictures of on this site.

We get stuff shipped home all the time. The prices aren't too crazy, nothing you wouldn't expect normally. Just tell the person checking you out that you want the stuff shipped home & they'll give you the papers to fill out & what not. It usually takes right around a week, most of the time a little less.

We were there last week and it was just our luck that the shipping charges had gone up then too! lets see...I sent a bunch of stuff home ups ground which came to about $105.00 before shipping....shipping costs came to $25.00. So, I guess it depends how you want things shipped. We also sent a few things 2 day which cost a doggone fortune! so, good luck to you and have a wonderful trip! Helen

So you can do this right at the shop you are buying from? They will ship it so you don't even have to deal with it in your room?

I have a few more questions they way it sounds is that at each store I just tell them I want to ship it home. But what if I am buying stuff from lots of different stores, is there some way to get it all shipped togther?
What happens when I go to pack everything to go home and find I can't fit everything? Can the hotel also ship stuff home?

Shipping home is great. A big plus is the taxes are backed out of the sale if you ship. EX: In August I purchase the castle and monorail playset as well as an Ariel doll costume for my dd at Mousegears. My total was $170 before shipping. Once I added shipping in it was $175 because once you ship, you're no longer charged Florida sales tax! Three boxes essentially cost me $5!!!

You can also gather all of your purchases together and bring them to your hotel gift shop. Once there they can back-out all of the tax and ship your stuff.

Shipping just went up as of October 1st. We were there just after it happened. It goes by dollar amount spent now. My mother and I pooled our purchases to save on shipping and I do know that shipping charges for $500 + is now $112.

So be sure to ask how much it is. I remember last year it was pretty inexpensive but not compared to this year.

If you get everything sent back to your resort, then take it all to the gift shop at your resort, they will do a post-sale ship to your home all at once. The lady at the Christmas Shoppe at downtown disney told me this but i had already shipped multiple items home but i will know for next time. I would ask at your particular resort to be sure they allow it but the lady at that particular store says it's the way to go and seemed very knowledgeable.

This is the best way, we always have our purchaes sent back to our resort, on the morning of our last day, we take everything down to our resort store, ( you must have all the original receipts ), CM will re-enter all the purchases to make one slip, and its done, everything will be shipped home. In June we shipped approx $650., and our shipping was only $23., it saves from pay muiltple shipping charges from different store purchases.
