Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on getting the most out of using a Disney Visa? I'll only be in Disneyland (not California Adventure) for a day, but would still like to know if there are any good rewards for cardholders. I know the photo op is in CA, which is unfortunate, but oh well!

Thanks!

I haven't been to the parks since receiving mine, but I know there are discounts at several restaurants. There is also a discount, 10% I think, if you spend over $50 at a gift shop. Www.disneyrewards.com has all the info.

As the PP mentioned, there are a few perks/benefits for Disney Visa Card holders at Disneyland.

  • 10% off of purchases totaling $50 or more (before tax) at select retail locations and select items. It's valid at the Disney owned stores and on most merchandise. There are some notable exceptions (e.g., it is not valid for CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays, Walt Disney Classic pieces, etc.).
  • 10% off at Big Thunder Ranch, French Market and River Belle Terrace in Disneyland. There are a few DTD locations as well.
  • 20% off Select Guided Tours

You can find all of the perks, plus the fine print on the Disney Rewards Vacation Perks websites. Scroll down to "Visiting Disney Theme Parks and Resorts" -> Perks at Disneyland Resort.

Can you get the Visa discounts on top of AP discounts for those items when available? Thanks.

Yes as a PP said not ALL places give you the discount. I know I didn't get it at Wine Country Trattoria and I had to remind a store clerk on main street to give it to me.

Sorry, but no. You cannot stack discounts. So you have to choose whether to use the AP or the Disney Visa.

In terms of dining, these are the participating locations:
Disneyland® Park:
  • Big Thunder Ranch
  • French Market
  • River Belle Terrace
Disney California Adventure® Park:
  • Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill
  • Wine Country Trattoria (Lunch)
  • Paradise Garden Grill
Disneyland® Resort Hotels:
  • The Lounge at Steakhouse 55 (Breakfast)
  • Steakhouse 55 (Breakfast)
  • Disney's PCH Grill (Breakfast and Dinner)
  • Storytellers Café (Lunch)

discounts on select food/merchandise.
Photo opportunity
pre-halloween ticket sales.

I've got an AP now, so its better in areas than the disney visa.

Thanks all!

Yeah, I don't visit Disney enough :sad1: to make an Annual pass worth it, but I did get a Disney visa for the bonus gift card, so I might as well use it where it's actually worth using haha.

Thanks for the help!!

So this might qualify as dumbest question of that day but do you have to pay with the Disney Visa to get the discount!

Don't worry. There have been much worse questions on these boards. But the answer is YES. You have to pay with the Disney Visa/debit card.
