Does anybody else feel like they are just getting the best deal on their vacation?

We paid $178 for our round-trip tickets aboard American Airlines. The ticket prices I have seen recently are between $250 - $350. (we only fly American - don't know why, that is just the way we are)

Our room at POFQ is $79 a night.

We have about $450 in Disney Dollars, many of which came from Creation Rewards, stocking stuffers and birthday-gifts. I think we have actually purchased about $100 worth.

When we were planning this trip, a 5-day park hopper cost the same as the new MYW 7-Day ticket with a hopper option.

I feel so blessed, like I am truly receiving the vacation-dream-come-true. I am so excited, I cannot wait to go.

bytheblood,

Congrats. I know how it feels to get that dream vacation comming true feeling. There is nothing vacation wise that matches the magical feel you get when you realize that your going to WDW.

Right there with you, blood.
I had reserved 5 days at Poly and 5 at WL for December, planning to buy APs and get a better rate. The plan was to then return in November 06 to get 2 trips off the same AP. The total (rooms estimated at 04 rates and $200/day for food) came to about $5,400 for trip 1 and $4,400 for trip 2.

Well, I went on Disney.com and priced out a 7 day trip (w/9 day park passes), staying at WL with meals at $2,971. 3 nights at Poly, plus additional food costs will run about $1,300.

So in the end, I save over $1,000 and don't feel pressured to return by a certain date out of fear of wasting the APs.

I have always avoided packages like the plague, but I can't complain about this one.

I think that is awesome. Doesn't it make you feel wonderful? :goodvibes

bytheblood,

I only fly AA out of DFW, too, and for my dates haven't found better than $210. What dates are you flying out that you're going for $178? That is so great!

We are departing June 2/returning June 9.
I bought my tickets the day my dates became available, this was in April 2004.

$210 is not bad either. Considering the fact they have been bouncing between $250 - $320, I think I would grab them at that rate.

Wow, all I can say is I wish I felt like you. We go every year and I have a set budget, this year is the total opposite of last year, the flights are so booked because of the ny spring break I had to pay $250 plus a ticket, o.k. my dh too gets the aa ff miles, the swan only has the govt. rate for 3 of our 9 days, no ap codes out yet, so I could consider switching to the poly. We are getting paps because we can use them for our dec and next year spring or easter trip. I want to feel like you, getting a real bargain, but I feel so ripped off this trip. The only thing that will make me feel better is if we get a huge tax refund that will finance the trip like it did last year. You are blessed. Enjoy your trip.

I'm right there with ya! It pays to watch flights and get deals! We are flying diredt from MPLS for $228, which is AWESOME for us! We also got an e-mail code and are paying $106 for a king preferred view at POFQ. We'll have some reward dollars saved up for a few meals. Also, got a great deal on a rental car for the week...am paying less for 8 days than I did for barely 5 days last year with a coupon!

This is why we can afford to go back!

You are getting a papsmear? :rotfl2: Seriously, is that a special AP?

Is $106 high for a preferred with a discount code? I think she quoted me $89 for a preferred room, $79 for a standard....we took the standard.

Congrats - That sounds great.

What I would like to know is how you got such a great deal at POFQ. We had booked there, but Disney wouldn't give me a better rate than $166 a night, so we had to switch to Pop for May - And it's our honeymoon.

I received a discount code via email. :teeth:

There is a lot of speculation that public codes will be out soon. I hope they are and that you can switch back to POFQ. :wizard:

All I can say is that I feel truly blessed and I certainly will not take the gift for granted.

I am hoping the same can happen for you. :grouphug:

On another note, $166 a night is awfully high. Was this for a preferred room with special requests during peak season?

We got the Disney Visa 7 for 4 deal last October. We really felt the way you do then!

That is a really good deal too. I would have gladly taken that as well.

We feel the same way!!! I still can't believe the deal we got!!! :Pinkbounc It is truly a once in a lifetime thing because we never dreamed we'd be going this year. I really thought we'd have to wait til after I graduate from nursing school in 2007 - toooooo far away!!! :)

Is the $178 the total price for your airline ticket? Just curious, because it seems like one site I was one showed the price as $178 but after they add all the taxes and fees and whatever the ticket was actually $210.

I am another one that will only fly American. I love them, and I would probably pay a LITTLE more to fly with them even if there were cheaper flights available. Isn't loyalty interesting?

Yes Jacskellingtonsgirl - $178 plus taxes. That is the cheapest they have been in over a year with the exception of the $150 deal in March that lasted for 1 week.

I was wondering how you got a room at a moderate resort for 79 a night in June or even the person who got in for 100. We have been looking for discount codes and cannot find nothing and we are just hoping for a value resort. Thanks in advance.

Never Mind. Sorry for asking a question that was already answered. I should have read but where did your e-mail come from.

How do you get an email discount code for a Disney Resort?
