So, I'm about to order our tickets for Universal/IOA/HHN for the 24th and 25th of September.
We're doing 2 day Park-to-Park
Via Universal Orlando's website, I can get 2 adult tickets (284.99 each) , 2 HHN tickets @ 67.99 each and 2 express passes for HHN @ 89.99 each for a total of = 885.94
I thought, let me try to see if I can any of this for less without using any discounts other than going to a re-seller.. so I tried the two main ones people suggest.. Undercovertourist and Mapleleaf.
Undercover Tourist quotes me @ 555.90 for 2 adult tickets (277.95 each). I'd still have to get the HHN tickets from Universal directly, and that cost would be $336.50 (including tax). If you add that to the 555.90 for tickets that puts the total cost for the SAME thing directly from Universal at = 892.40 which is actually MORE expensive than Universal. How? the ticket prices are cheaper in general, and the HHN tickets are the same price.. well, it appears that Universal taxes those HHN tickets, and you end up paying more by buying from two different places, vs. getting them all from Universal. If we were not doing HHN then UT would be cheaper.
Mapleleaf tickets are even more expensive than Undercover Tourist, so the same would apply.
Basically, what I'm learning is that if you go to Halloween Horror nights in addition to the parks, it's less expensive to just purchase all of your tickets directly from Universal than it is to try to buy from re-sellers since the additional fees involved negates any savings you would have had, since you cannot buy HHN tickets from any of the resellers.
Anyone else learn this and has anyone figured out a way to get discounted tickets in that it WOULD be cheaper to buy from somewhere else other than direct from the source?
Any promotions or deals I'm not aware of before I pull the trigger?
