Getting soaked in rides?

I think I read somewhere that there is less water in Kali and Splash these days, so masks don't get wet. Can anyone who has been there speak about that rumor? Thanks!

Not true for splash. I heard some elements from kali were turned off

We did not get as wet on Splash as usual. We got wet, just not soaked. All of the water elements are still working, though. It's just that the big drop splash wasn't nearly as wet as usual. We think it's because the boat has fewer people in it due to distancing, so it doesn't displace as much water and therefore the splash isn't as wet as usual. Which in my opinion is a good thing. I love the theming and fun of the ride, but I really don't like getting totally soaked. But nothing was turned off. It's the exact same ride as always, with fewer passengers. We did get wet, as did our masks. We were prepared & had extras.

We got moderately wet on Splash and almost nothing on Kali. We ride Kali twice in the hopes of getting wet. We left disappointed. For Kali we were a party of 11, so a full boat of 4 adults, 4 teens, 3 youth.

Rode Kali a few times yesterday and same experience. Splashed, yes. Wet, no. They have that one jet at the top of the hill that’s right in the middle turned off, and I don’t know what they’ve done on the drop but it wasn’t the same “big splash” for the folks who take the direct hit as before. They have those elephant squirter things off/covered there towards the end.

I think as far as the drop on both attractions it's cause the vehicle is not heavy enough

During CM previews at MK, I saw the water cannons were off for the big drop on Splash. I'd assume it is the same for Kali. The water cannons were off on Pirates as well, just some small splashes from the drop but nothing like it normally is.

I had the canon go off on splash (after the drop) to the log in front of me but not for mine (thank God)

Did you get ziplock bags for the ride?

No. Contrary to some others' optimism on the thread about the Splash Mountain gift shop, I really think Disney is done producing Splash Mountain merchandise. When this lot is sold, it's gone imo.

There has been a water cannon in Splash mountain that went off for every third boat coming down the big drop. At one time (still?) that water cannon splashed the main walkway in front of Splash Mountain. There were some times in winter months when it was turned off completely.
