Hi newbie here,

Firstly thanks for all the helpful information that has been posted on this site, it has been a really big help in trying to sort everything out.

This is our first trip to DLP. We travel by Eurostar on Tuesday 6th March for 4 nights, and I am starting to panic a little about a few things we are doing:

1. We have not booked seats for our 3yr and 19 month old children on Eurostar. Is this going to be a real problem? We are travelling from Ashford so only on the train for approx 2 hours.

2. We are staying at Santa Fe, and am unsure whether this accomodation is Ok. There is actually 3 adults plus the kids, so am guessing it is going to be very crowded! I am really concerned about this.

3. We have booked the Wild West Show, but am now unsure whether it is suitable for our youngest daughter. she is exceptionally well behaved but not sure if all the noise and sitting on my knee will be too much for her.

4. We have a character dinner booked at Cafe mickey. We have the table reserved for 6.30, but have read that the characters do not appear until 7.00. Is there any chance we would be rushed and out the door before meeting Mickey and friends?

Thanks for all your anticipated help with these issues.

I have seen people on the Thalys (1,5 hours) with children on their lap. If they can manage it, you can manage it to! :thumbsup2 Also, you can always take a walk or stand for a moment!

We always stay at Santa Fe, with 2 or 3 adults, and it works out just fine. We don't go to enjoy a room but to enjoy a theme park. The rooms are clean and the beds are good, so we're happy! Have you thought about booking the free good morning fantasyland breakfast? That could be fun (though early) for one day! (or more days - that breakfast is also 'quieter' than the one at the hotel)

No idea, never been

You're in France, people like to enjoy their meals over there! You won't be rushed, but if you're concerned, change your ADR with 15 minutes.
Also, they won't chase you out of the restaurant after you finished your meal. Waiters don't expect tips like in the US, so they rish you not that much.

What is this? Never heard about it. We are staying at the Santa Fe.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the quick reply.

The hotel response has really helped me, as this was my main concern.

If the Wild West show is not suitable I will just have to leave with my daughter and leave the others in there. She does love horses though, so hopefully will enjoy the show.

One final query that I have not read about anywhere. With the youngest we are taking our own pushchair, but when we go on a ride such as It's a small world for example she will be able to come on that so we will need to leave the pushchair somewhere. Is there areas available? If so how safe are they? If they are not safe is there posts that we could lock it to?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want this to be the best family holiday imaginable.

Thanks again

P.S. We have a fantasyland breakfast booked for the Thursday we are there, really looking forward to it. Mum... basically it is breakfast in the park an hour before official opening, giving you a chance to get on rides etc.. before the herds.

Hi Maureen,

When you check in ask for a Fantasyland Breakfast for whatever day you want and they will give you a ticket which basically lets you in to the park one hour before official opening to enjoy your breakfast in a designated restaurant (Au Chalet de la Marionnette).

This is only for guests of certain hotels (Santa Fe, Cheyenne etc) and is so cool as you get to have breakfast and then get on some of the more popular rides in Fantasyland before everyone else. It's free too!

Do not worry about your buggy while you are on the rides. There are areas around each ride where people leave buggies, you will see them quite clearly! We took a bike lock with us as we took our own buggy and were concerned it might get taken but we didn't use it at all. It was very safe, everyone does the same, you all park the buggies together.

The GMF breakfast is well worth doing, we did it on October and had the rides to ourselves as everyone who'd booked the breakfast were still eating!

I have never heard of anyone getting their own buggy stolen. The hired ones sometimes get borrowed by someone else. Sometimes th CMs will move the buggies a little if they are parked in the wrong place or blocking something but they wont be too far away.

There is no charge for this, but you must book it. It IS worth it though.

It is not any noisier than childrens parties or softplay areas. Our DD was slightly older at 2 1/2 years and she loved it :)

Thanks for all the posts, am really getting excited now, I know the kids are going to love it!

Just a shame the weather report shows showers for all 5 days we are there!
