one more thing before I check out for the night....who posted they were buying some keens? because zulily has some AWESOME deals on keens right now and their deals GO FAST!!! check them out NOW!!

I saw them on zulily but they had the whispers I want from amazon with free return shipping for only a couple dollars more. And some for the kids for $18! And free prime shipping and I have a $25 gift card from amazon so I have those in my cart now. The ones on zulily are great though if you know exactly what size you need! I wear a 9 but sometimes need a 9.5 but my feet are narrow...sizing!!!! What a pain! I also have my eye on some awesome chacos.

We are going in march too. I have 10 lbs to lose. The Dis pics don't worry me. It's the pool pics I'm fretting about. Started my diet and exercise before Christmas and am down 5 lbs so far with 5 more to go.

Way to go! You are half way there!

Eeeek. . .pool pics! I just don't even take any of those! :rotfl: I wish I had been with it enough to start before Christmas--way to go!! That's terrific! You will be down your other 5 with no problem!!

Ok, y'all, I'm back to regular schedule today (no flood day). I got up at 4 am, did the treadmill and a little bit of weights (trying to tone the arms). I have also logged breakfast and lunch in MFP.

I hope everyone has a rockin' day!! :cool1:

Lol on the pool pics. Good for you for getting up early and exercising!

I weighed in this morning....ugh...ok, so my "T" is not looking so good:scared1:
Remember when I said I had gained back a solid 10...yeah, lets make that more like a solid 12. But I'm going to blame some of that on this past weekend, so hopefully I'll be back on track soon. I will be happy losing 10-15 pounds.

I did W5D2 (week 5, day 2) of the C25k this morning. I am enjoying it...I was never a runner but I always wanted to. This program is a great way to start without getting injured, going too fast too soon or getting burned out.

Good luck with the diet and exercise today!

I have heard a lot about GMO's and I am very anti GMO's too. Did you use holistic medicine as a part of your treatment plan?

My oncologist team (particularly my radiation oncologist, Matt Mumber http://drmattmumber.com/ is like, the king of holistic treatment. ;) He just wrote a book, but he had recommended to me 2 books - Anticancer and crap, I can't remember the other one, I'll look at home - but they were very much about treatment of cancer not just with medicine or chemo/radiation (I had a type of lymphoma - anaplastic large cell (non-hodgkins, ALK negative) - talk about a mouthful) but also from the head and heart perspective, too. I truly believe that a huge part of FEELING sick was the fear that I had... Anyway, meditation was one of my prescriptions ;)... And no sugar. He is anti-soda/sugar and pro-green tea, so we drink it a lot.

***ETA: The other book is called Life Over Cancer!!! Just remembered...***

YAY for 4 am (NOT!!!) - I did do my 5:15 am Zumba again today! We usually have it scheduled T, Th, & F at 5:15 but we are (GASP!) expecting snow and ice tonight/tomorrow so it's likely it will be closed. We don't do driving in that sort of stuff down here. Our tires are all bald!

Good job! My DS (who is way athletic, age 8) is really into wanting to run, so we had started this C25K together (just walk/jogging in the neighborhood) and then the weather turned, and then everyone had strep. We want to run a 5k together! So... we should get back on that. Would love to take him to the Y and do it together on the treadmill, but you have to be 13 to use the treadmills there... Alas.

shoes.....sigh.....My husband is insisting we try to use the kids crocs from last year before we buy the kids keens... I think keens would be much for comfortable...I could online shop for shoes ALL.DAY.LONG!

Way to go! You are half way there!

I think I might have to try this program. I have been hearing good things..

I am a really big fan of holistic treatments. Thank you for the book suggestions. I'm going to check my library. I always watch that guy on Dr Oz....the um...whats his name..The eat to live guy. I was thinking of buying his book. My DH thinks I'm nuts! but I think it all makes perfect sense. Good for you doing your Zumba!! Us northerners are pining for snow....I am atleast. :drive: Drive safe and slow if it does ice up!

Hey gang! I'm joining in to this thread to help me prepare for a cruise (11 weeks to go!). My goal is 1 1/2 lbs per week, my overall goal is 15lbs for the cruise in April, then another 10 by summer. So far, I am off to a good start. I'm doing an 8 week challenge to motivate! The challenge is "inches lost". My plan- personal trainer 3 days per week, cardio and weights at gym 2 days, running and workouts at home.
I really want to do well!

I also found some new Keens I want on Amazon for less than $50 with free Prime shipping and I decided I will reward myself with those when I lose 10 pounds.

And yes, 5:15 zumba has earned me some smilies. Going again tomorrow. MAYBE Friday but we are supposed to have black ice on the roads here. (IT NEVER GETS COLD ENOUGH HERE for that kind of stuff. It never snows or anything. I can count on one hand the number of snow days we've had... ever.
I also saw the Keens on Zulily. What the heck are they? Are they really good shoes? I have my own favorite brand of Disney shoes that I'll share later. And be careful on those roads!! I, too, live in the land of no snow and no one knows how to drive in those conditions.

Flooding! eek! stay dry! I don't know what I would do without caffeine

I have heard a lot about GMO's and I am very anti GMO's too. Did you use holistic medicine as a part of your treatment plan?

mmmmm cocoa krispies!!!! My kids constantly ask for mickey waffles! That will be our first breakfast in the world. well maybe pop waffles...
GMOs--Genetically Modified, but I'm not getting the O part. Mickey waffles....aaah. When we surprised my nieces and nephews with a trip to Disney (they had no clue we were going until we were all actually in Disney), Mickey waffles is what finally made the surprise sink in for them. So, I have a special place in my heart for Mickey waffles.

one more thing before I check out for the night....who posted they were buying some keens? because zulily has some AWESOME deals on keens right now and their deals GO FAST!!! check them out NOW!!
Keens again!!

Oh, you can do that!! Way to get on board early. The fact that you actully LOST weight and held it off over Christmas garners you a :woohoo:!! Good job. And welcome!!!!!!!

Please send me some of your awesome early morning resolve. And I am so with you on the pool pics just not happening. I don't especially want to be seen by a bunch of strangers (who am I kidding...anyone!) in a swimsuit, much less capture it to remember forever!!

I weighed in this morning....ugh...ok, so my "T" is not looking so good:scared1:

I know lots of people who've had success with C25K. I know you'll do great. And you'll get that 12 off!! I know you will.

You are going to be FIT!! Welcome to the thread!!

I have a feeling that my "T" might have a minus sign behind it tomorrow!!

Matkensgirl2000-
Way to go on the "T"!! Here's hoping you are on the way down!!
I'm loving my veggies and protein- here's hoping it loves me back :-)

I hope you all are doing well!!
I weighed in today and I'm at...........T-2.4!!! I'll take it with a smile on my face!

Since we're all starving, let's talk...dining. I'm almost positive we WILL go ahead and get the dining plan but by not including it in my package, I'm buying myself some time to pay for it. Instead of paying for it 45 days out (when you have to pay for your package in full when booking through Disney) I'll just add it about a week before we leave since you can add it up to 3 days ahead of time. So I just bought myself 6 extra weeks to come up with $800.

On a little dining side note, guess what I made myself last weekend. Ohana's pineapple coconut bread. I got the recipe from allears.net and I must say it's pretty spot-on. The only thing is I don't get the pineapple and coconut evenly dispersed through the bread but who's complaining about biting into chunks of yumminess? Not me!!:rolleyes1 It's a yeast bread and those definitely intimidate me, but if you follow the directions, it is pretty easy and it has always turned out fine for me.

I must say that I'm a bit overwhelmed about dining this time. I think the whole Fantasyland expansion is kind of rocking my world and I feel like I have to get to know Disney all over again. One good thing is that all my people have opinions on where to eat this time. Before, it was all me!! Here is a list of table service restaurants where we've eaten before.
50's Prime Time Cafe- 2002
Sci-Fi Dine In- 2002, 2006
Les Chefs--2002, 2006, 2008
Akershus--2006
Ohana--2006, 2008, 2010
Mama Melrose's--2006
1900 Park Fare--(Cinderella's Gala Feast)--2008, 2010
Boma--2008, 2010, 2011
WCC--2008, 2010
The Wave--2010
Chef Mickey's--2006
Garden Grill--2010
Hoop-de-doo--2011
Tusker House breakfast--2011
Grand Floridian Cafe (afternoon tea)--2011
Crystal Palace--2011
Via Napoli--2011
What is something that I'm missing that I must try?? I'd like to try at least one new place this time. Keep in mind that seafood is not something we're seeking out...we live less than hour away from the Gulf of Mexico and there have been many a time that we've gone and caught our own seafood dinner. I don't like it particularly but there haven't been too many seafood places that I haven't been able to find a chicken or steak dish!

Up next: More dining and The Who of this trip!

Congrats on the 2.4 loss. I am still up 1, but I was up 4, so, I lost 3 this week. I can't help you with the dining choices because I have never been to WDW.

This is where we are hoping to eat:
Akershus (Princesses for my DD9)
1900 Park Fare (Cinderella - face characters for my DD16)
Ohana Breakfast (DD17 is Stitch fan)
Ohana Dinner (I want to try the famous break pudding)
Raglan Road (Great Irish Hooley is happening Labor Day weekend, so we have to check it out)
Cape May Clam Bake
Crystal Palace breakfast (hoping for a before park opening time)
Chef Mickeys breakfast...not sure if this is a must do for us
Rose & Crown (OOP)
Sci Fi Diner
We also want to try Be Our Guest for lunch. Of course for counter service, I want to try Landscapes of Flavor at Art of Animation. We want to be able to tour and take pictures. We will also eat at our resort Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter. That should be more than enough food. I wish I could try everywhere that I want, but we would have to spend a month there.

Again, congrats on the loss.

Congrats on the loss!!!! I am no help with dining, either--your list includes most of our favorites and the ones not on there are seafood. I am like you, though, the New Fantasyland has somehow thrown all of my planning for a loop. It's like I can't wrap my mind around it! I am so impressed that you made the 'Ohana bread. . .we all LOVE that stuff!!

OregonMomtoWDw--congrats on your loss too!! Getting down to +1 from +4 is great too!!

I have been doing my MFP and my exercising. My first weigh-in isn't until this coming Thursday, so we'll hope for the best! :dance3:

I hope you all are doing well!!

Congratulations on the weight loss!

Some of my favorites not on your list are:

Brown Derby
Le Cellier
The Japanese hibachi place (sorry, can't remember the name off the top of my head)
Cape May
Kona
Beaches and Cream
Yak and Yeti

And I know you specifically said no seafood, but in case anyone else is looking for it, Flying Fish is wonderful.

I need to go narrow down my ADR list. As of now I'd need to be eating three meals a day for a month lol.

I'm in. I have gained about 30 pounds in the last 2 years and need to get it off before our May/June SWW trip. We always get PP and I was looking at the pictures from our 2011 and 2012 trips and realized I am in tons of pictures from 2011 and almost none from 2012. It really motivated me as I know I will shy away from the camera if I don't look good. For an idea of what I want to get back to check out my picture from 2011 in my A SWW PTR May/June

Matkensgirls-
Another not-to-be missed dining experience is California grille.(top of the Contemporary) Time your dinner right and you can watch the fireworks over Cinderella castle from the big windows or the rooftop deck. The food is outstanding!
Also- brown derby has a semi-private back room called the bamboo room. The server there is outstanding. It's where all the celebs who come to dis get seated b/c of privacy. A great experience!!
I have survived week one of diet and exercise! Woot woot! I'll weigh-in tomorrow. 10 weeks until our cruise-yay!! (2 weeks until a wedding in Islamorada...not expecting any change by then!)

I'm in. I have gained 15-20 lbs since spring and I plan on losing it or at least some of it by my next trip in March. I'm going to eat around 1200 calories and go to the gym. I'm planning on taking classes (such as Zumba), as I don't seem to get as bored in them than if I just go on the treadmill or elliptical. My issue is it's soo cold out where I live I just want to stay in and I'm less motivated to go outside and excersize.

So I realized that I jumped in but didn't really give my plan for accomplishing my goal. So I weighed myself for the first time in a while and I have gained 33.5 lbs since our September 2011 trip. YIKES thats alot!!!!

To give you some history I am the type of person who was able to eat pretty much anything while I was growing up and never gain weight. This allowed me to develop some very poor eating habits. That streak changed once I turned 30 and the weight started building up. During my 30s I yoyo dieted trying every option out there. Then at the age of 37 my husband and I made a life altering decision. We decided to have a 3rd child. We already had a DS16 and DD12 but we(really me:) ) wanted one more. So I went to see a nutritionist to try to get in shape to get pregnant again. I learned so much there but the biggest thing I learned was that it was better to focus on getting healthy instead of getting skinny. As the nutritionist told me more times than I can count it is possible to be skinny and unhealthy but if you focus on eating healthy you can have both(skinny and healthy).

I followed her plan got healthy(skinny), got pregnant, had a beautiful baby boy and lost the pregancy weight within a year. I had kept the weight off for 6 years. I even had a full physical in 2011 and all my levels including cholesterol were normal! Then I turned back to my old eating habits and back came the weight!

So all this to say my plan is to focus on getting healthy. Everything that goes into my mouth needs to be a healthy choice. I do not plan to count calories, carbs or fat because I just know I will fail at that but I will be substituting veggies for my snacks of choice lately and make sure I get a good balance of protien, fiber and EXERCISE. The exercise will be the hardest part for me.

I am hoping our upcoming trip will be a big motivator for me. I would love to go to Disney feeling and looking my best:)

Breakfast: I usually eat steel cut oats with fresh fruit.

Dining: Here is where we are eating this time!

Chef Mickeys
Tusker House
Rainforest Cafe
Hollywood and Vine
Mama Melroses
Cape May Cafe
Teppan Edo
Garden Grill
Cinderella's Royal Table
Be Our Guest
Ohana's
Liberty Tree Tavern

Still taking classes - three classes per week and lots of walking. Weigh in on Wednesday that will tell the tale!

I know just what you mean by unhealthy skinny! Last year, I confronted the weight I had gained by going to a physician weight-loss center. Prior to tgat, I had completed 7 triathlons, a half marathon, and multiple 5 Ks. Over time, i had slacked off- i had simply put my exercise aside and just ate whatever, whenever. Even when super healthy with good blood levels and good fitness, I was not none thin. I was a normal healthy size 8. After slacking off I gained about 15 lbs.
So the dr weight loss approach: very effective- 15 lbs gone. Along with all my muscle mass. And my metabolism, and some of my hair. I'd call that unhealthy skinny. They tell you to limit your exercise, take their prescription b12 shots and weight loss drugs, and cut calories to around 900 daily. I have been fighting to regain my metabolism ever since. I gained it all back in about 2-3 months after stopping the pills, but at least my hair stopped falling out.
Now- I am totally in tune with the healthy approach. Lots of water, healthy protein, veggies, cardio, and weights. I dance with my daughter on the kinect, I walk and ride bikes with the kids, and I feel awesome.
Good luck on your journey!

Even when super healthy with good blood levels and good fitness, I was not thin. I was a normal healthy size 8.

:thumbsup2 I am in the same boat. I consider a size 6/8 to be my ideal size. Anything smaller than that and I look sickly.

One thing I wanted to offer up to everyone is a recipe blog I found while searching the internet a couple of years ago - Skinny Taste(I assume I am allowed to do this since she doesn't sell anything??? - if I am not I am sure someone will tell me and I will remove it so please don't quote me just in case). I have made tons of her recipes and have never had anything that was not delicious. She gives you all the nutricional info for each recipe. Some of my favorites are:

1) Breakfast - Hashbrown egg white nests

2) Appetizer - Southwester Black Bean Salad

3) Lunch - Turkey Burger with Zucchini

4) Dinner - Chicken and White Bean Enchiladas
