OK, since we are new to US & IOA and going in May I need some advice. When we went to Disney I went on Star Tours and thought I was going to die. I don't like stimulator rides. Which rides are like this at US? I saw that Jimmy Neutron can make people sick. I also thought I read somewhere that there are seats that don't move so you don't get sick? Is this true? Please help keep me from getting sick. I hate to miss a ride so a stationary seat would be a blessing! Thanks!

At the Studios...the sims are Shrek, Jimmy Neutron (both have stationary seating) and The Simpsons (not sure if that will stationary seating)...so you could do those and still enjoy youself.

Are you OK with spinning rides? If so, you could do MIB at the Studios and Cat In The Hat at IOA.

I get sort of the same way, and not knowing what spiderman was, I went on it. I enjoyed it for the most part, except for when it spun you around a bit and then fell off the roof of a tall building.....didn't take a liking to that too much, so you may want to sit this one out.

I get sick on a lot of rides, but the only simulators that have ever made me puke are Star Tours & Body Wars. Maybe because they're so old? :confused3

Oh boy! Not a fan of spinning either, well I shouldn't say that. Not a fan of constant spinning like the tea cups at disney. Don't think a little spinning will bother me. Ugh, I hope not.

I get motion sick easily. I always take some kind of motion sickness pill before I leave in the morning and that does it.

The only ride I would avoid is Storm Force. The rest I can handle. For Spiderman and Jimmy Neutron -- if they bug me, I look away from the screen.

I also avoid storm force cause usually my DS's can get that thing really spinning and then I am no good for a half hour but spiderman doesn't bother me and jimmy neutron I don't care for cause I am a big man and don't fit well in :lmao:

The Simspons, just like BTTF, will NOT have stationary seating.

I would buy some non-drowsy Dramamine (make SURE you get the non-drowsy!) and take 1/2 a pill in the morning with breakfast. Take the other half after lunch, and you might be able to tolerate the rides. Make sure that the name of the active ingredient on the Dramamine bottle says "Meclizine". This is the generic form of Antivert, which is a prescription medicine for dizziness, motion sickness, vertigo.

I swear, I get motion sickness just bending over to tie my shoe, and this has helped me in the past.

On an older thread someone said they take 2 non-drowsey dramamine before bed each night (because they are 24 hour pills)--then they are good to go for the whole next day.

Check with Doctor about scopolamine patches for one option. Make sure you discuss any possible side effects and maybe try one before you get a full prescription.

Motion sickness cures are as numoerous as the people that use them. From accupressure, to ginger, to medications.

Do the rides post if they have stationary seating before you get on one? Also I know at Disney World they post at the entrance to a ride what to expect. :cool2:

They have the same signs @ US. Back problems, heart etc.
My DH has the same problem, his theory to overcome it is too have acouple of cold ones before he rides:drinking1 It works for him SOMETIMES.Still cann't get on The HULK.Wish he would but afraid of hgt.

:thumbsup2 Forgott to ment, he only drinks anykind of alcohal on his vacs.
Then he breaks loose, in a good way:thumbsup2

mettro west, i wouldn't exactly call shrek a simulator. more like a 4 d show with water and maybe a little bit of vibration.

anyway....i love simulators. :). the only rides i was ever sick on was stuff like duelling dragons.

iwwww...stuff doing that again

The stationary seating for both Shrek and Jimmy Neutron is in the front row of the venue. You have to tip your head way back in order to see the screen. The speed of the action made me very dizzy. I had to turn my head away for most of Jimmy.
