Getting read to go to the "Magic Place"

Hello I am Jackie I have a planning addiction....that goes with my Disney addiction! My family includes my husband Corey, daughter Grace(age 5) and my son Jack(age 15mo).

We will be heading to the World for our second family trip on April 22 2009 and returning May 2nd 2009. We will be staying at Pop Century. It is our second resort stay and our second stay at Pop.

We are not really big into the eating part of vacation so we don't make any ADR's. Not to mention the thought of a sit own restaurant every night makes my head spin. My 15month old is not the best diner. So until they are both old enough to sit and eat a meal peacfully we will be doing quick service dining.

We are flying out of Indianapolis at approx 7-8am on the 22nd. We did this last year and it worked GREAT. Grace slept the whole way down. Jack was awake but he did great. We had the portable DVD player and he just watched a Baby Einstein video. It was our first time flying and it was GREAT. I mean getting there in 2 hours ROCKED. I get car sick so driving is like slow torture for me.

Well kiddos are calling...it is bedtime. I will be back to add more tomorrow!

I wish they would post the May hours. it is so annoying to not be able to start my plans. I man I can start but nothing is set until i know EMH and Park hours for the first few days of May!

I need to find a way to make up something that is more handy for at the parks. Something that has reminders of things we have not done and want to do while at the parks. So we do not forget them again and only do all the things we have already done again. Maybe I can get a spiral set of note cards. That would be small and easy to flip through. I will have to try that and see where it gets me. Last year we had a bunch of notes but they were on 8x11 paper in a regular size folder. It was big and bulky to get out and go through.

I am pretty excited about spending less money this year and going for longer. The 4/3 deal did help with that. Last year we shipped a HUGE box down ahead of us and I am trying to decide if I should send a box again. I will proabbyl do that but not as big of a box. I need to decide waht we would ship and see if it is worth it. We are flying southwest so we get 6 bags free. Seems like we could jsut take an extra bag for free. However the bag gets ABUSED during transport i am sure and if we are trying to keep snack and things like that in eating condition it might be better to ship a smaller box I will think on that one for a while and decide closer to our dates.

One of my other delimas is our stroller. I am jsut not sure which one i will take. We have a sit and stand that we took last year(we bougth it for the trip) but we used the busses and it was a real PITA. We will be using the busses again and I really do not wanto lug that thing around for a week and a half. I have a Graco double umbrella that is so much more compact then you fold it up and both seats recline. Seems like a no brainer but it is not the easiest to push and is wide. We parked it alot any way and mostly the stroller is for storing our daily needs(extra clothes, diapers and such) and for napping kiddos. I was thinking it might be better to take two umbrellas but DH does not want to spend money on more strollers and cheap umbrellas do not recline. I think we will take a trip to the mall and take both strollers and I will let DH decide. Since he is the one who has to lug it on and off the busses so if he thinks it is worth it then we can take the sit and stand.

This trip we are goingt o find pressed pennies. I need to find a pressed penny book. I also want to get lanyards and start Gracie on pin collecting. I think it is a great souviner and small. I got her a stuffed minnie and mickey last year and it went into the Goodwill bag because she just does not play with them(her idea). I was bummed but lesson learned! We are going to need a new autograph book because gracie's old one is full. We will get one that is not princess-ish and it will be for both of them.

We decided we are driving instead of flying. I relaly wanted to fly but with the ecomonmy like it is, we are trying to spend as little as possible and still have a nice trip.

Gracie relaly does not need one 90% of the time and we have devised ways in the past for her to ride on the single. So if she needs a short ride it will work. Renting a stroller is just to expensive. I would rather use the money and buy myself a nice one I can KEEP!

Well may's hours are out so I can get on wiht my palnning. i have been waiting for that. I did not want to plan stuff and then change after I was all done. it is to much work to redo!

We decided to add the hopper and drop a day at the resort. We will not go to the park Wedensday so we are just going to stay someplace else that is cheaper Wedensday night and get up and got check in and get our tickets in the morning Thursday!

Here is our schedule so far.

Day 1 / 4-23 We have to go to Magic Kingdom first * of course*! Things we plan to do FOR SURE because we missed them lat year (Actually except for the tree house & minnies house DH and I have never done these things):
Swiss Family Robinson Tree House
Ride the Train
Country Bears Jamboree
Winnie the Pooh
Minnie's house

We will leave MK at about 2pm and head to AK.

That night at Animal Kingdom they have EMH. Here is a list of the things we need to make sure to do, the things we missed last year.

Nemo Show
Jungle Jammin Parade

We will try and get there by 4pm to see the parade that day.
