First the Jedi show:
Which show is the least crowded? I was thinking the first one but there is also one during the parade...How early should you get there? Is it clearly marked on the map? Any tips on getting picked? The trip is for his birthday (but not on his birthday)-should this be mentioned to anyone?

Same questions for Turtle Talk...

Thanks,
Christamae

Welcome to the DIS.

Go immediately to Guest Services, and get the birthday button---many CMs and some other guests will with him a happy day.

The first show is generally the least crowded, and tell him to sit near the front of TT, and wave wildly when he asks who wants to ask Crush a question. You might want to do the same---DH sits on the floor with the kids, and has been called on to ask questions several times.

If guest services is busy just find a cast member carrying those bags, and they should have a button in there for you. I agree about Turtle Talk, sit up front and wave wildly. My youngest loved talking to Crush.

As for Jedi, the first show and the one during the parade are probably your best bet. Have your son stand right up front and wave wildly again and should get picked. My son got to do that on his birthday and LOVED it. He still can't stop talking about it and even practices his "moves" with the Light saber we got him for his birthday.

Hope that helped a bit.. :)

we are plannig to go to the first show , first day , and maybe again if the boys don't get picked. I have already told them the need to look happy and enthusiastic if they want to go , hope it works out my 7 year old will probably make me go 100 times till he gets picked !

What "helped" my 9 year old dd get picked was the fact that my dh was "levitating her". He held her up a bit using his hands while she stepped on them. :thumbsup2

They just have to be overexcited and wanting to be picked... i think thats all you really need to know :)

Ds was wearing a bright orange Gap hooded zip jacket when he was picked. Bright colors worked! The first show was the least crowded and it would offer your son the least competition during the selection process.

I am worried about this in the Jedi Training thing too. My 9 year old son has the type of attitude (although it is getting much better) that i fhe goes to the show and doesn't get picked it will ruin him for quite a while afterwards. Hopefully I can talk to him before he gets there and convince him to understand that sometimes you just don't get everything you want.

Thanks for your comments. BTW, it's not my son. I am making a guide for my friend and it's her son...

Is the show clearly marked on the map?

Hey! We just got back and we got picked for both shows! Yay!

For Jedi, they seemed to notice kids with bright colors....stripes were a big hit or a bright hat.. My ds was wearing neither, and got picked almost last, but my other DS (the older one) was pointing at him and I think that helped... He was of course waving wildly, but so was everyone else!!! :) I think bright colors are the best way!

For Turtle Talk, sit up right at the front of the "lilypads" and have a parent sit with the kids too. My dd was in her princess costume and she got picked and then crush wanted to talk to me too...:) Quite fun! That's a great attraction.

Anyway, I'd say wearing something unique and being right up front will be helpful in both shows!

Good luck!

What show did you got to for the Jedi thing and was it reallly crowded? Any recommendations what may be a good time?

We just walked up on Sunday a few mins before showtime.... I think it was the last show of the day.
