Getting park tickets before check in?

We have our trip to Disney planned the week of Thanksgiving. We are staying at ASMU in a family suite. We have 8 days of tickets and are on the dining plan. My parents, sister, BIL and their two kids have decided to also go but are going the week before Thanksgiving. We could not go that week as we would have to pull our son out of 6th grade for a full week. Even though he has good grades, when he misses even one day being sick it takes forever to get caught up. We are out the whole week of Thanksgiving though but thought since they probably won't do much Thursday and Friday of the week before, we might go down early and meet up with my family for a couple days before they leave. They are renting a house off site so we can stay with them the couple days before we check into our hotel. My question is can we get our tickets to the parks a couple days early or do I have to wait until the day we check in to our hotel? We want to be able to visit the parks with my family while they are there and know we won't be using all 8 days while we are staying at ASMU. Just wondering what my options are.

I would call reservations for the answer to that question. I am going in a couple weeks on the 4/3 package, but we decided to come in a day earlier than originally planned. There was no more package days availible so I had to book a room only reservation for that night. The reservationist told me that I could pick up my tickets on the day I checked in, even though the package doesn't start until the next day. I don't know if this would work for you since you are staying off site the first few days, so I would definitely call. But based on what I was told, there is a definite possibility.

NO you can't get your park tickets or start your DDP before your check in date. They are attached to your room key if you bought a package (which I'm assuming that you did since you have the DDP)
