First cruise for us, anniversary celebration and retirement cruise for husband and me for worrying about him at his job all these years (Fire Captain in Newark, NJ)...anyway...I hope this doesn't sound stupid but does any kind of paperwork have to be filled out to get off of ship at Castaway? THey sent us something on excursions but I didn't see anything about having to do anything to get off the ship just to use the beach. May 2nd is approaching quickly and we are starting to get a bit of the shaky hand nervous nellies, do we know enough about all of this even though I've read these boards a million times, I still can go blank so bear with me as my mind has been on a cruise vacation for quite awhile now, Lynn

It is just like getting off any other place. They have a place to dock so it is just walking off the ship to paradise.:smooth:

Lynn, your question was not stupid. How will you know if you don't ask?

There are plenty of people to assist you (on these boards and on the ship).

Enjoy your wonderful cruise!:teeth:

The only problem is everyone wants to get off at the same time. But to answer your question, no you walk down to the gangway and walk right off the ship and into one of the best parts of the cruise..smjj

Just make sure and complete all paperwork they send you ahead of time. Enjoy!

In the paperwork you get ahead of time there is a very short very simple form for the Bahamas.

This is techncially the paperwork for Castaway Cay as Castaway Cay is in the Bahamas.

They will collect this along with all your other paperwork prior to boarding the ship the first day.

At Castaway Cay there is nothing else special. They slide your room card as you leave the ship and as you board the ship so that they can track who is onboard and that's it.

Don't forget to take your KTTW card and a photo ID (Drivers Lic works) with you as you need it to leave and board again.

Just so you know. If you want to use any of the rec items, such as floats, bikes, boats & etc. There is a charge for these. Also Drinks are extra. They serve a GREAT buffet lunch which is included in your cruise fare. The store on the Island "Sea Shells" and the bars uses your KTTW card for charging back to your room account. The Post Office, and yes there is one, uses real money so if you want to send some post cards back home, make sure you bring some small bills with you.

Happy Anniversary and Happy Retirement! :)

Thanks everyone, now I just gotta get the time to pass quickly so WE GET THERE!!! P.S. Lynn
